"...rifle packs the most punch..." For what? The Russians used the 7.62 x 54 in bolt actions just about exclusively for the past 100 plus years. There really isn't anything else.

I think you can scratch the Dragunov there! They are Prohib. OP should be looking at the SVT-40 period. Chambered in 7.62x54 and a good deal right now.

yea man SVT-40 ar going for 300 locally by my, rounds are like 30 cents a round... Economical and fun as hell ! I found the gas system easy to clean and work with... SKS was annoying.
