Just bought an m&p 22 this week. Love the gun overall but... It shoots left! I thaught it was me at first but the thing was barely on paper at 25 yards out of the box. I shoot pistols regularly, about once a week so im not a terrible shot. I can shoot about a 6" group at 25 yards with the sights factory on all my other pistols. This gun is no exception to those 6" groups but there left barely on paper... (I did have a more experienced shooter try it as well) I took the gun home and used a caliper to check the sights, the front was off to the right about .020". So I made it perfectly centered and went back the the range. Still shoots left.... a bit better though. I adjusted it at the range to make it dead on at 7 and 25 yards but now the front sight is over to the left and it looks goofy! Anyone run into this before? Any recommendations? Take it back to the dealer?

well I can always move the center back and adjust the rear but the if i adjust only the rear, then the rear will look funny. doesnt take long to adjust them

In your case you're probably better off at half and half. Move the front just a touch then finish the adjustment with the rear. That way neither is too far off cosmetically and you're dead one.

22's are notoriously fussy with ammo so trying a different brand of ammo might help a bit also.

Personally I haven't gotten around to getting the MP 22 yet but it's on my list. " Rear Sight: Click Adjustable " . That's what 2 different dealers have as the description in their add's. I'm guessing this is wrong ? It should probably read '' drift adjustable front and rear ''.

I tried 3 different ammo's. All similar results. I think ill try adjusting both a bit and see how it looks, it just sucks because you buy a brand new gun and expect it to be perfect...
As for the sights, they are both drift adjustable and move very easy. The rear has a screw click type adjuster for elevation.

My gf has claimed the MP-22 for herself so I can't be certain but I think the rear sight is click adjustable for elevation only. I'm out of town at my parent's place right now so I can't confirm.

I do 4" group with mine at 25, i slightly adjusted the rear from stock. I'm using Remington crap o bucket bullets (they are great in my MP22). Check if your barrel is tight, mine got loose (i shoot a looooot) also keep an eye on the spring pins, they are getting out when you shoot a lot.

Thanks for the tips. My barrel and pins are tight (just checked when I saw your post) I moved both front and rear sights by measuring with a caliper. Its much less noticable now, ill just have to go see how it shoots now... As for the group size, I could probably do a 4" group of 5 shots. When you shoot for tight groups, how many shots do you take?

I usually use a magazine.
