So I picked this baby up a few months after I got my firearms license (about 2 years ago) and finally decided I would take a nice pic and post it. Its a 1951 Tula, and is a joy to shoot. Just recently added a Tapco 5/20 detachable magazine and I think it looks fitting :)

Found some minor rust on the gas tube and a small spot on the old 5/10 internal box magazine, but I'm fine with that. Love this rifle though! I'm thinking of getting it a brother and modernizing it with all the accessories.

Looks great! Those lamo stocks look great on the refurb Ruskies. My 53 Izzy has one as well. Stronger and more durable that the original hardwood too.

Nice rifle, I recently got one too and I hate top loading it, can you tell me where you got that mag and if it was easy to install or make it work on a wooden gun?

Oh yeah haha I questioned the legitimacy of that sling when I found it attached to an old air rifle out at camp. As for where I got the magazine, I just asked at the local gun shop if they had Tapco 5/20 round mags and it was super easy to install. Just slight filing on the front duckbill portion.

Nice looking SKS

I bought a '54 Tula in August, love it... now my favorite gun. I just added a Tapco mag to it too. I'm thinking about buying another one and putting and Modding it with a black stock. I think it would be cook to have one classic and one done up all mod like.

FYI I had to chisel some of the wood on the inside to make the tapco fit nicely... the old mag goes back in fine

Got mine at Wanstalls
