510 lb Wild Pig

Congrats on your harvest. Is it a boar or sow? I just don't know it you had harvested Duffy or Wallin......they kind of look alike.

For all the pig experts out there, would this pig survive a cold winter? The ones around our area are full of hair like the previous pics. I have never owned or raised pigs.

Cheers!!

Even though that is a domestic pig I still would give it a taste test before spending money taking it to a butcher. Could be quite foul.

An actual wild boar of that size (or anything over about 150) with big old nuts hanging down is pretty much un-edible form my experience. The old boars stink so bad you gag just walking up to them. Could be just my area though.

Yeah. when I was a kid, we castrated the boars.

If i couldnt eat it,500lbs of dinner for my 4 dogs is just as good.

Even the big sow's around here are un-edible due to living in a really rank muskeg hole. Most of the wild boars have been shot out in this area and the only ones left live in the worst imaginable #### hole. Its so bad I think they actually break through the fence just to go BACK to the boar farm in the winter!

Ears are about totally frozen off, so must have been exposed to some really cold weather.:)
