Redfield Scopes

My guess is you are looking at them because of price.

Junk, stay away! Spend the money once and buy a good scope!
Price check! Can say this enough, some stores have higher margins than others. I and others have saved huge ($200+) in my case shopping at 4scopes.com
And that is after shipping/taxes/handling fees!

I think the Redfield Revolution is a good hunting scope for the money.
I tried a friends 2x7 Rev mounted on a Marlin 336 in .375 Win and it was clear and "so far" holds zero etc I guess it depends on the type of Bushnell you are replacing. The Redfield would be head and shoulder's above a low end Bushnell and maybe close to a 3200 etc...

They are a good scope for the money , made by Leupold now and they have a lifetime warranty. As said earlier they are a little better than the 3200,s I had for clarity.

If the optics are sufficiently clear, have decent contrast, cross hairs track well and keep their zero, and all other features coincide with what one wants and needs from a scope, by definition it is not junk.

If money were no object, I'm all for getting the "best;" However, the intended purpose and other circumstances have a role to play in the selection as well (ie. cost vs. benefit... .)

I have a Redfield Revolution 2-7x33. Its optics are clear (enough) and it keeps zero (perfectly.) One observation, though: The coatings seem to "mute" light brown colors compared to other scopes I have. All other colors (ie. wavelengths) come though "normally," providing good (enough) contrast. Does this affect its use in the field? Absolutely not - I'm keeping this scope.

My bushnell has better glass by far than my Redfield. Both come with lifetime warranties.

Wrong..... Bushnell is a limited lifetime warranty of 25 years. Redfield / Leupold has a true lifetime warranty i.e forever 100+ years that can be passed on without proof of purchase from generation too generation i.e. NO 25 year limit....
Bushnell doesn't do this.

From the Bushnell site:

Canadian Warranty
In the past our products have had different lengths of warranty coverage, however, since 1984 the majority of our products carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Bushnell guarantees your product to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner. These warranties do not cover consumer caused damages such as misuse, abuse or repairs attempted by someone other than our authorized technicians.

Both Bushnell and Redfield have a lifetime warranty to the original owner. Leupold has a lifetime warranty regardless of ownership, there's a difference. Most just assume Redfield/Leupold have the same warranty, they don't.

I have two Redfield Revolution 2-7x33's, one on a Ruger 10/22, the other on a Benelli MR1 which gets banged around a lot. It's been a perfectly adequate scope and is well worth the money.
