Hi everyone,

I am interested in learning how to rappel. No, not in a tactical way (haha), I am just an outdoorsy man, looking to broaden my skills. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I live in Victoria BC and am willing to travel for this.

Cheers!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Indoor rock climbing gyms are the quickest way to get started. You're not setting up the abseils if you go this route, but you do most definitely get a feel for dangling from a harness and you learn how to belay others as well.

Personally, I would go for this if I was looking for a real adventure for my first time abseiling. Fun day out in real conditions instead of artificial indoor walls:

Abseiling and rock climbing are both a lot of fun. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

Thank you. I have some indoor rock climbing experience and am comfy hanging off the rope, hehe. I've been looking at the Horne Lake website for a while now. I just might give it a try
Cheers!
