looking for information on where to get a magazine for a .22 sears model 4C, this maybe a savage model but I'm not sure. Any help would be great, thanks

I do believe that the gun is a Cooey-Lakefield Mossberg, Winchester made Model 64. the mags are readily availabe from Savage Arms. Google for parts Dept. number...mags are same as Savage 64 mags.

I have a cross reference list for Sears, but can't find 4c on it...quick google search suggests a bolt action.

DO you have any additional info? Pictures?

Not finding 4c on my list doesn't mean too much, as fellow CGN'ers have produced pictures of an 8C that turned out to be the Cooey 64 (as suggested, it should be a Canadian 6C).

Camster, I remember the thread awhile back regarding an 8C that the fellow had posted about. I too at that time thought it was probably a 6C that wasn't stamped properly. However, since that time I had a Sears model 8C in my possession so there definately was an 8C made by Winchester/Cooey for Sears. But I have never heard of or seen a 4C made by Cooey. Of course nothing says I am correct as I have not seen every Cooey.

I'm not convinced it's a Cooey...even the 6C comes in both Canadian, and Yankee flavours. A quick search on Google did get some 4C hits, but they are described as bolt actions.

There have been a couple of threads about the 8C. In one, the owner posted pictures, and it was quite clearly marked as an 8C...I haven't given my list the same credence since!

A savage 4c is a bolt action with similar magazines to a savage mrk2, but not interchangable. The magazines can be modified to fit a savage 4c though.
The correct magazines for them are available through brownells, but I'm not sure if the manufacturer is registered for export.
I have also seen the occasion magazines for them on the EE

I assume the sears 4c = the savage 4c, as I see other sears 4c on the internet and they were the same as the savage 4c I owned.

There was a model 6C that was made by Cooey for Sears that was the model 64. However, I'm not aware of a model 4C that was made by Cooey for Sears.

The Sears 6C in CANADA was the Cooey Model 64. The Sears 6C in the UNITED STATES was the Winchester 490.

My Cross Reference Book also does not list a 4C model but if the OP posts a picture, then someone can identify it.
