I have submit the app 2 time, both are passport size photo, never got a problem though.
By the way, I called today, got transfer back and forth like 5 times from News Brunswick to Chef of firearm in Quebec, finally they put priority on my file and expect to be interview next week, I told both of my references to expect a call next week. Hope I can get my restricted PAL soon.

You don't fax them to the ON CFO.. you fax them to the CFC.
and I'll check for the # but I'm not in my office atm so someone else might get it for you 1st.
I just asked for a passport photo, didn't think she would recognize a PAL picture.... Dam
I had some photo quality printer paper laying around and printed my picture my self. I had a neutral background and made sure my head was framed up right . It took 3 tries and about 15 min to get it right. Then i printed it up and cut it to the right demensions. Now just waiting for the card in the mail.
I sent in my app in July and they received it July 29 from Alberta. Didn't show up online for 5 weeks. Then I called every 2 weeks and then finally got my interviews done on Wednesday October 10 and later the following day it was approved and mailed!!!
I couldn't print my oun picture, as I don't have a printer capable of printing on photo paper.
You had a fair wait eh... I have a couple friends that waited 5-6 months, not knowing about this forum and playing the waiting game.
I'm hoping since I just had a criminal record check done by the RCMP a 1.5 months ago, that will speed things up some (that took 3 months or so cause I've moved around 3 times in 5 years)
Did they give you your PAL #?
After waiting a couple of months I finally had my phone interview today. Hopefully my references can call in to speed things up a little it's been since August 6th that I mailed in my app. I keep on trying to put my info in the rcmp website to check my status with no results. I use the 8 zeros cause I don't have a pal# just yet and the same message keeps on coming up.

Hi everybody. First post. My app for rpal was recieved August 9 in Miramichi, this morning status changed to issued ! Yeah!! One hour later was on phone to wolverine to put a hold/downpayment on their "featured" Sig p226 x5 .40 s&w SA/DA. Now all that's left to do is get a membership at a range, get my rpal # and pay the balance. Big smile in (soon to be) Winterpeg.

Took them just over 3 weeks to open the envelope, and my aunt just let me know they phoned her for the interview. Hopefully it's all good from this point on...
Hey congrats same here today my references called in and literally 30min later I got my lic # as well as my status changes to approved and has been issued. Signing up for a club ASAP. I have a tikka t3 varmint in ss w/ heavy barrel in a .308. on hold
. Can't wait. I also purchased my whole setup prior to. Sinclair tactical bipod. Near 3 ring mounts. Factory sako pictinny rail. Hinterland shooting supplies muzzle brake. And a nice k312x50 kahles scope to go on top.Also wanted to know. I may be wrong but don't you have to be part of a gun club in order to purchase a handgun. Or did you purchase the sig knowing you are going to join the gun club like now

Wow! Mine was received Aug 26th, I've been calling in on a weekly basis and my app is still in pre-interview stage. I called in today and they told me that the interviewers have not received my application yet, and to wait another week. Strange how yours was received after mine, and issued so fast?! I'm calling in again at the end of the week to see if that helps.
I'm still new to this, but I think I can go to some place like Cabelas and buy a handgun. Then I phone the CFO and ask for a short term transfer permit to take the pistol home without having a membership anywhere. For a long term ATT I DO need to be a member of a gun club that allows handguns. I got mine online at Wolverine Supplies , essentially an online purchase and (with wolverine at least) I am required to be a range member BEFORE they can ship the gun to my home address. I asked, but they also will not ship the handgun to Cabelas for me to be able to go pick it up there. Something to do with it being restricted. Needless to say, I anticipate a membership within the next week. Like yourself, I can't hardly wait to go put holes in paper down range.
