M-305 & SKS special....

RAYdiation, my purchase shipped on Monday and showed up Thursday, in Alberta:dancingbanana: Just got my PAL/RPAL as well. First rifles, so I'm not overly experienced with the nuances of the types, but they sure do look purdy. Advice to other noobs... make sure your spouse/roomate(s) are aware that the cosmoline cleanup may be a potentially unpleasant experience for them, aroma-wise f:P:. Also to my fellow noobs, the red and battle rifles forums here on CGN are a huge resource. Read, lurk, and ask, someone will or has already answered any question on these rifles you may have.

Thanks for the info and words. I have already started reading as much as I can about the M305. As for the SKS, I have a little more experience since my friend let me shoot his. I liked that rifle as well. Actually, is there any rifle that no one likes? Yeah, I have also started looking up on how to clean cosmoline. There are different ways of doing it, just glad that the end results are the same: a happy shooter! :D

Marstar is already out of stock of the m305.

Thank God I grabbed one unfortunately my 2 brothers didn't

I sincerely hope more are on there way soon

Sorry about that but we only had 1 container.... More at the end of the year, but prices are going up for the first time in 10 years....

Wow am I ever glad I bought one already.... I was way over my spending budget for the year, but decided to get one anyway..... good thing I did..... pfewww!

Just picked my package up from the Post Office today! God they are real beauties!!

Only problem is that I'm on-call this weekend, so I have to get to bed now. :(

Thanks Marstar for hooking me up with my first rifles!!

One item actually caught my eye. If I remember the deal with the M305 and SKS, there was supposed to be 1x5 rnd magazine(small) and 1x20/5 rnd magazine(large). I got 2x20/5 rnd magazines. Anyone else got this? I also found a stripper clip in the case. Was this also part of the deal?

Don't worry be happy?

I ordered this combo, and it was delivered two weeks ago.

The M305 I ended up sending back due to the trigger guard not locking in properly, and the receiver looked like someone went over it with a sanding disc on a drill by hand, the sights were way off as well.

I bought a 2012 model from another vendor last year that has none of these issues, and looks infinitely better considering. I opted to get this deal due to claims of improved quality over previous years. This is not the case from my experience, and I was told approx 50% of the receivers were hand finished rather than CNC.

The SKS was fine and I indicated as such on the phone, but I was told I had to ship back both rifles for some reason even though I wanted to exchange the M305 because it was a package deal. This makes no sense to me because even if I wanted to return, and not exchange the M305, why would I have to ship back the SKS when they could just bill my card the full price for the SKS?

Basically at this point I'm out one way shipping for getting a bad M305, and the return shipping is not being prioritized in the queue due to a "back log", so I'm waiting another week to get it sent back.

On top of that the replacement M305 is still the hand finished with a sanding disc quality on the receiver, and not CNC finished like my 2012 model is.

First purchase with Marstar, and most probably my last.

Once again we have the situation, no name, can't check your file....

if you were told to return the entire package it is likely due to the fact we don't have any 305s left to replace your or we don't have one that meets your criteria....

As for the shipping, why would you be out the shipping ?? Have you not read our warranty ??
Sent everything back regular parcel post mark the shipment ATT John....

Who told you the receivers were"hand finished" having seem the production of these rifles I cannot recall anybody hand finishing the receivers....

It's order #20581. I called , and said I was happy with the SKS, but wanted to exchange the M305. For some reason I was told to send them both back due to it being a package deal. At the time I said it made no sense to send them both back, and that it would save money to only send one, but that I had to because it was sold as package special.

Once shipped back, the next conversation I was asked why I sent both rifles back, and because of that I will have to split the shipping because I should have just sent the M305 so I will have to pay for sending one extra rifle. I believe I was very clear about the fact that I wanted to keep the SKS, and exchange the M305 at the time.

Here's some photos of the receiver. It looks like someone used a drill with a sanding pad on it. I was told the replacement rifle will have the same hand sanded finish instead of a CNC finish, but have "better" symmetry. The finish on top is very lumpy and irregular in addition to how it looks.

That's more then some light sanding it looks like someone grinded a lot of the receiver off.

probably had a ton of chatter on it from milling and they took a 90 degree sander and smoothed it out, used to do it all the time at work. It look like all out #### but they weren't firearms
