Best value in guided big game hunting trip in North America

Without question aoudad in Texas. Caribou and antelope are also great value and a great adventure. Mountain goat would rate pretty high as well.

You need an export permit from USF&W and in some cases other permits...it really depends on the species but ya, it can be as simple as flying it or driving it home.

Also discovered something called Nilgai down in Texas. A place called King Ranch I read about has a one day hunt $750 per rifle and $1000 trophy fee. I thought it sort of strange that they advertise it as a one day hunt as I figured hunting for something would take you time (multiple days) to find it. I guess with these ranches, they know where the animals are.

Aoudad seems really neat. Sheephunter, are you aware of any particular outfitters that you'd recommend.

I've hunted nilgai...pretty fun hunt and some of the best meat I've ever tasted. Our hunt was three days. Lots of good aoudad outfitters....kind of depends on how you want to hunt and what your trophy expectations are.

For someone in ON, pronghorn in the western US would be pretty appealing as well....New country, decent pricing, high success rates...Haven't done it yet but myself and a couple buds are planning for Oct. 2015 in Wyo.

I'm just starting out. In a few weeks I will be doing a semi-guided hunt for whitetail in wmu 47 around the North Bay Area in Ontario. Moose only makes sense to be next on the list for next year.

None of my friends can afford to or are interested in doing something out of province; primarily cost. I'm thinking it might be nice to sign up to do something guided out of province alone.

Guided moose or whitetail even in Ontario seem to be quite expensive. Might be worthwhile though particularly with moose as Ill get to learn an area. I think I had picked WMU 12B for next year with a group of guys as it has both moose and whitetail in season at the same time.

Nilgai seems like it could be a nice short trip alone. Family won't miss me much for a few days. Still a bit surprised on the one day thing!

Not all nilgai hunts are equal. I'd suggest shopping around a bit to see what's actually included and what type of experience it offers. You may be able to add additional species like wild boar or javelin or predators at a very reasonable cost as well. As nilgai are not native to North America, getting your trophy and meat home may present some challenges/additional costs regarding permitting.

I have been to WY for Mule deer & antelope both guided and DIY and it is a lot of fun, you see lots of game. Long drive though.
No trouble bringing game back I have done it both ways - flying in to Toronto and driving across at Sarnia/Port Huron.

Canoe - send me a PM we need to talk......
