Which TIMER/Chrony is better quality ?

Hello,

O.K. Below topic on Chronographs has been answer for me... I'll also be buying a timer and not many replies on that, so I ask, which timer
is best for price range of $130 +/- from that ?
I'm thinking either the yellow one we see at matches all the time.. not sure if that's an RUReady or some other one with 700 in the name ?
and either the c.e.d.7000 or Pact Club III

Feedback from those experience many models, RO's MD's etc... would be appreciated.


Looking to finally buy my own chrony.
Which on of the 2 most common, "Shooting Chrony Beta" ... specifically the "Beta Master" model

It is like clips vs. magazines...

The device you looking for is called chronograph. "Shooting Chrony" is a trademark of Canadian company manufacturing chronographs, but there are other manufacturers.

BTW, you should have paid more attention when you ammo been chronographed at Level III matches...
 
PACT Inc also makes timers and chronographs.
I have their Mark III timer and chronograph combination, I have had it for many years and have had no problems with it.

Why you always bother to reply with uselessness remarks ? I know what it's called, but "chrony" is also short form many shooters use for chronograph.
If you have experience with more than one chrony brand and like to weigh in with your opinion, you're welcome to, otherwise save your energy. :)
 
The Canadan "Shooting Chrony" are manufactured in Missisauga... (Queensway and Cawthra Rd.)

Mine has been shot twice (Not by me). Both times I just took it to the factory and it was repaired while I waited.
First time they just took my old one and handed me a new one.
Second time they ust replaced the shot up part(s)

In and out in minutes.

If you're in the GTA.... I'd go with the very local Shooting Chrony
 
I've heard of that. It's a European model ? Also, if you're going to throw in that name brand, why not take an extra moment to comment on it's performance ? or do you not have one ?
 
I have the pro chrono from competition electronics and really like it.
It has worked for me in all lighting conditions and been accurate.

If I had unlimited budget, I too would probably have an Oelher.

Oh, and I call mine slut. She happily takes all the loads I shoot at her without complaint and is always ready for more.

I started with a Chrony many years ago and it was good to me, it was the basic model, one day a wad from a 12 gauge slug destroyed, it, one club member was owning a P-35 Oehler, about 8 years ago and sold it to me, from that time up to now, it given me super service, accurate, very well made, the performance is flawless and calibration never did changed over the years, if i ever get another one... It will be because i shot it... Hope not... JP.
 
At one time I had a Green(low cost) "Shooting Chrony". One day at the range a fellow asked if could test some factory rounds he had to see if the velocity was as printed on the box. Of the three rounds fired one was one foot per second over, one was one foot per second under and one was bang on(so to speak).

Why you always post useless questions?... If you know what it's called then call it what it's called... Next we know you'll start calling magazines as clips.

If you'd paid any attention at bigger matches, there only two types of chronographs used at big Level III matches. CED and Shooting Chrony. I yet to see any other devices used at matches and that speaks for itself. It is also quite possible Shooting Chrony been used because company was one of the match sponsors.

I don't know where you planning to use your chronograph, but none of them work in the dark. So you need light. Either sun light or some kind of lamp attached to the chronograph.

You can't beat that kind of service, thats the one I'd be getting for sure.

Pact has IR screens for their chronographs. Although you will need a power source for them - ideal for use in an indoor range.
 
Have had pretty good luck with the Shooting Chronys that I have used on chronograph duty, but I still really like my Pact MKIII with the MK IV update(yup the old beige dinosaur) and it just keeps on working and also the added bonus of being a really versatile timer too!
 
I don't always get readings through shooting chrony with my ar.....but for pistol it always works.

Ithink it may be the comp on my ar, but not sure

That's strange... I've used my shooting chrony with a variety of firearms, including a comp'd AR.

No problems..
