How often do you get harassed while hunting?

I would have taken pictures of the people, and the vehicle, and reported them to the authorities, for both interfering with a legal hunt, and for the vehicle infraction. If nobody takes action, they will surely continue their behavior.
 
Guys it's really simple. These antis use groups/gangs to empower themselves, we must do it too - work as a team. We should have zero tolerance for this behaviour and report all incidences. Why give them a chance? They need to be taught a lesson. First strike and they're out.
 
I think their rad would have spring a leak in a hurry if it were me :rolleyes: but is there not something in BC protecting hunters here in Ontario its illegal to do such things and the fines are heavy for doing them

You ought to see how humble folks get when you come trotting up on the back of a saddle horse with a tricked out SKS across your back. Pretty neat :)
 
I got to hear a wonderful story about some goose hunters being harassed, I was very happy they were. I got permission to hunt on a piece of land that was prime, so did a few others. The owner said no more then 1 vehicle and 3 people on his property at a time. Well Joe ****head brought a group of 5 or more in 3 seperate vehicles and were leaving their Tim Hortons cups in the ditch. The land owner came out and yelled and screamed and now nobody is hunting there. Probably never again... I wish I could've helped yell and scream at them, now I have to drive 20 minutes further to my next nearest location.
 
so some tree hugging, animal loving, tofu munching type of person is interfering with your hunt in the middle of nowhere ???

I think the best course of action would be to leave the area immediately , but litter the road behind you with as many tree's as possible , until your saw runs out of gas .

then show up a couple days later and collect what is left of tree's as firewood :D

If that was me, I'd go there every day, and sit there for a while... Then let them honk, and yell... Then walk out of sight and leave most of the time, but every once in a while, fire a shot at a tree if there's nothing around, and walk back into sight... Eventually they'll stop the stupidity, and ignore you...
 
Every year,

I get called a puppy killer when shooting coyotes, people stop and video tape me as I shoot them, call the cops, honk their horns and finger me..... I have permission and I have legally cleared the ditch before I start shooting....

People have come in horns a honking wrecking a deer hunt.

This year someone stole my Iltis of a oil lease while I was down a concealed cut line then dumped it in a swamp up the road. It was long night in -2 with only a light hunting jacket with pants soaked from trying to dig out my jeep. Surrounded by wolfs that night,(paw prints all around me within 50 feet, they were howling all around me). In the morning I walked for 4 hours before I got picked up, took me all day to get home, next day me and a wrecker went down to pull it out, $950 and another wasted day. The rear bumper was smashed from the side, I can only assume it was hit by another vehicle, engine was shot, mechanic said they damaged the carburetor and it sputters a bit while idling now even with that fixed.

oh yeah good times....
 
The harassment and yuppie attitude is one reason why I just sold this property and bought a home with large acreage in north western Ontario. The ever increasing Toronto influence has ruined this area for almost everything except bird watching, and even the birds I think have had enough as there doesn't seem to be as many of them at the feeders anymore.

I have been harassed by the Toronto crowd on numerous occasions over the years. My tactic has been to completely ignore them, and had worked well. The issue now is I have two neighbours that are actually imports from Calgary who own adjacent property that are anti's. Hard to ignore this bunch so it's time to move on.
 
I used to get harassed by one individual on a regular basis years ago when hunting on Lake Nipissing for ducks. He would always be waiting at the boat launch for our return then start beaking off about it being illegal to hunt on the lake because it was in city limits as he always declared. I used to just respond by saying if I was doing something illegal the police would be here waiting for me too. I even offered many times to wait for them while he made the call. He never did. The last time he met me at the launch he threatened to shoot me with his 30-30 if he saw me out there. I told him that his threatening me was not a good idea and that I was sure the police were going to enjoy chatting with him. There was a fellow who worked at one of the paint stores in town I was sure was his son. One day while in their I asked him if Mr. So'n'so was his father? He said he was. This guy always seemed like a pretty reasonable fellow. I relayed the story of his father's threatening me to him and said I really don't want to have to call the police but I sure as hell don't want him to go nuts and shoot at me either. He just shook his head and said he doesn't even own a rifle and he won't ever bother you again. And he never did, I never saw or heard from him again!
