Hi,

I can get one of these but not sure which one I should pick. Both are in 270win caliber and fairly the same price
I have a tikka T3 already and I love the smooth action but maybe I would like to try something different.
Quality wise, which one would be the best pick in term of accuracy and durability ?

thanks

i would pick the tikka as it has a removable mag and i just like them better. both will probably shoot well. the tikka is a little heavier than the t3's but the stock seems nicer to me.

Model 70. Nothing compares to the feel of it. Hard for me to pay for something that feels like a tin can(tikka)

P.s - There are two types of gun owners in the world: Those that own Model-70's, and those that wish they did

I can't find mine. I must have one around here somewhere, because I don't wish that I own one.

catapult, I like a detachable magazine so like chappy that would make me choose the Tikka, but if that doesn't matter to you, I suggest you handle them both and hope you find one fits you noticeably better than the other. Then that's the one for you.

According to the OP the Winchester in question is a post-64 so to re-phrase your post........ " Those that own model-70s and those that are glad they don't."
And as for pre-64s, I sold both of mine in April, to make room for more Tikkas....

Is there any big difference between the two ?? (pre and post 64)

We're it a pre 64 I'd go that way. If it was a post then I'd go with the Tikka. Detachable mags do nothing for me so it just comes down to fit, feel and condition.

This week I sold my post 64 model 70 and I still have my tikka m65 - had the model 70 been in a different calibre I wouldn't have sold it- I personally liked it - although the tikka m65 is a gorgeous rifle - I'm sure you will be happy with either.

You may never know unless you buy both and test to your standards.
However, since you already have a Tikka there will be the familiarity.
Regardless of what some may think of Remington, they remain my choice since triggers are interchangeable and I am comfortable with them.

I already own a Tikka, not the M65 mod but a T3. I will put my hands on the Winchester and feel the action. Sometime, you just need to get the feeling and you know if you like or not. I like the slick action of the tikka but I have also a Parker Hale with Mauser action., its very solid action and I love it.
To give more details on the Winchester, she has no floor plate Mag, its a ''westerner'' and has 22'' barrel Stock is in flawless condition with the original varnish on.
comes with a cheap Barska scope on steel leupold mount 550$ local pick

I shared this with one of my friend and he said: hey ! for 50$ more, you can get my Tikka65 no scope, only rings.

I feel a little dilemma inside lol...
