Ontario Sunday Hunting Map

This morning while driving to the club I noticed a couple of guys who had just finished goose hunting in a farmer's field. They were loading their truck up with dekes, cased guns, etc. The only problem was there is no Sunday hunting in that particular township. I wouldn't call it in but the next person driving by might not be as charitable.

Not every Ontario township permits Sunday hunting. Here's a link to an MNR map so you can make sure.

What is the purpose of the no hunting on Sunday regulation?Seems like BS to me.

We are a good Christian country and Sunday is our day of rest.

Seriously that is why it's been law forever plus a day here. Only recently has Sunday gun hunting been allowed.

Yes, its BS. Thankfully the powers that be where I hunt allow us to hunt Sundays.

I live in Prescott and Russell and its been Sunday hunting here as long as i can remember (35 plus years),
and my older buddy says its was that way as long as he can remember.
I recall many years ago, it and maybe one other township was the only 2 that allowed it.

I don't mind giving the animals a day to rest from all the hunters on Sundays, but using church as a reason to stop us from hunting ? BS

I was not alive 35 years ago, but the last 15ish years of me hunting and seeing Sunday Gun hunting open up in most of the province, is what I know.

This township doesn't permit any hunting Sunday bow or otherwise.

The individuals I saw had cased firearms.
