I started out with the Remington Core-lokt and Winchester 170 silvertips, used 150 grain Imperial stuff on coyote in BC, later tried cast 175 grain lead bullets, and now use Hornady 170 grain interlocks pretty much exclusively. That bullet has proved effective for me on Deer, Moose, and Black bear. They all work, and they all work very well. So well in fact that I have no interest in bothering with the newer pointy 30-30, and certainly not with any of the expensive premiums. The bullets for this round have been developed over a hundred years of use. They are very well designed for the purpose.
Yes, I even have a few old Dominion cases amongst the brass I reload.
