My T97NSR with handguard RIS installed

Got my first rifle, awesome firearm. The RIS is bought from an airsoft owner~ very very rare to find and seems the T97NSR's front sight has different shape compare to QBZ95 or old T97~ so I have to remove a piece on the RIS to install the rail system onto my T97~but overall I happy with current setup :p

I think the made in Canada FTU will be close to the same price or lower and even though it requires permanent modification it offers more.


OP, Nice pictures! What else can you say about it? Any weakness or downfalls?
Can you still use your peep and front sight with your rail and red dot?
 
Only optic that makes sense for one of these imho are the original carry handle scopes that the PLA or whatever are using. I'm fine with irons personally and I wont even bother attempting to find some half assed solution.

I like this as I don't feel like forever changing my rifle cause if I do want to sell it in the future I know I will be taken a huge loss instead of a little one. That and if it comes in around $350 won't I still have to buy back-up iron sights at $100 plus or an optic witch is even more?

I hear you.
I'm thinking that the next development from M14.ca will be a forward mount for red dot's.

Bottom line if you instal the M14.ca flat top you will not be devaluing your rifle to someone that wants a flat top with a non reciprocating side charging handle......obviously someone that wants a stock gun will not be paying extra for something they don't want.

Good to have options!

haters hate.. but personally I think the m14.ca proposed rail is ridiculous, it's clamping the barrel at two locations whereas originally it's relatively free to flex under recoil, I wonder if that will affect the inherently good accuracy we are seeing from these rifles

also the rail does not look like it is going to be "affordable" which defeats the purpose of this rifle, not to re-mention the fact that you are bubbaing the rifle for good, even if the next guy wants the rail on there you will be taking a huge hit because no one is going to pay you for your hack job it's sad but I'm sure most will agree that it's true

Also I think the rifle looks very slim and clean which is a plus compared to the Tavor and FS 2000 which in my opinion looks less elegant(not to say that Im implying t97 is better overall) adding the m14.ca rail ruins the clean look. this is just my opinion, each to their own of course.
