Ok -

Well I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet - but the KRISS FRT # has reappeared.

Now we wait for the decision on the SANS ....

Imported with unpinned mags.

I thought it was that it closely resembled the full auto version and that some new model coming out soon had confused them?

They should just pull their heads out of each others as$es and realize that messing with honest law abiding gun owners does nothing to reduce crime.
I think they should make it mandatory for every Canadian citizen who passes screening to own a firearm than buy everyone a punisher T-shirt :p

What do mags have to do with the rifle FRT?

Damn RCMP.

Mags have to be pinned before being imported, and can't be pinned in country afterwards given how the law is stupidly written. Mags were imported with the rifle unpinned. To stop further import of unpinned mags with the rifle, the frt was suspended until the issue was resolved. Suspension of the frt puts imports on hold.

At least that is what is guessed. Either way, it would appear administrative and not reclassification. Panic can now be redirected to something else.

That still makes no sense.

What was their issue with it again? Claiming converted auto?

OK they didn't know Kriss made a machine gun version of the gun. The lowers are male and female meaning the upper for the semi auto with fit only with the lower of the semi auto as 1 is male 1 is female. The full auto version is the same way female male but reversed. They found out and went O crap there is a machine gun version out there as well so lets check to see if you can drop the trigger in. Turns out they didn't know they made female and male versions of the gun and flipped them so the parts can't be changed between them. I asked why they were reviewing it and they said because there is a full auto version of the firearm. They found out hey there is no way to change it because the parts can't be swapped and that's why it's back. I asked them if they knew the parts were that way they said no but we have to find out I said just speak with the manfacture they have spoken about it before that there is no way to switch between them and they did this on purpose.

I talked to the lab asking so what do people do if they own one? Get stopped by the police with one? ect. They said it's still a non restricted just the FRT has been pulled I said well then how would you be able to check it if they try to check it? She said that could be a problem but they would have to call the CFO

They also don't like how people can swap barrels on them as well... I said well then you have to register it as a restricted. That and it's not easy to do.

Cant you pretty much put a different length barrel on any firearm? I wonder why this is a particular concern with the kriss only.

I talked to Heron arms about a 10mm conversion for mine before I sold it and was told that only a gunsmith could change the barrel, the original barrel was usually destroyed in the removal process and that there was no way to be able to swap back and forth.
I looked at mine and there was no easy way to remove it.
