There is a review of it in one of my magazines I picked up the other day (can't remember which one for sure) they had nothing but good things to say.
If I could reload 338 fast enough to keep up to one of these I would buy one.
It won't quite get as good of accuracy as my DTA SRS but being a semi and looking as bad ass as it does makes me want one.
 
So which retailer is going to try and import these?

Would it be considered a variant and prohib just on that articles writing saying it is based on the russian dp28 machine gun?

I'm hoping it would be non restricted as the only thing it shares with the AR is the trigger and the only thing it shares with the dp28 is the gas system and bolt design but they are not from the dp28.
I think worst case it will be restricted as it looks like a big mother f'n AR that is capable of 1500m.

$6800US is going to be the biggest problem for most. By the time it gets here it will be close to $8000 with tax. I don't think I'll be selling my DTA for one but I may have to sacrifice a few other toys.

I like that they're including 4 mags with each rifle. No messing around there.

Oh don't worry. Canadian retailers/distributors will take three mags out and sell the gun with only one, offering the "spare" mags for double US retail. Standard Canadian M.O. don't ya know.

I think it qualifies for both forums, it is black and looks kinda like an AR but shoots sub MOA with my favorite cartridge.
Any more manufacturers make rifles like this we'll need a new forum called precision black rifles :)

Yup, and probably charge extra for the hard case it comes in and they'll still jack the price 20%
 
Well TSE and Wolverine bring in stuff that is much more pricier than this. If these folks get enough inquiries and requests they might try and bring these in. Alexander Arms makes some nice accurate rifles.

How true. Wish it was not so. Don't our retailers know that we are buying mags direct from the US because they are 1/3 to 1/4 the price? Not all mags though, thats the sticker. Well you do what you can.

There was a review of that one in the magazine I bought as well. I'll try to remember to look to see which one it was tonight when I get home from work.
They seemed to like it as well, I didn't read the whole article yet but it sounded good from what I did read. Said it was reliable and accurate. Small magazines though :( I guess if it is restricted semi auto it will be 5 round mags for us if it makes it North of the border anyway.
The magazine has a pic of the 338 on the cover.
