Pistol caliber carbine or .223 carbine...

I was all for the t97. then I read they're only good for 6000 rounds. When most rifles would be getting broken in. And the drilling of the gas port went to down to far gouging the other side of the barrel on some (most) of the t97s. If I spend 1000 I don't want any problems no matter how small they may be.

^ That's from the old manual:

"Service life of the rifle is 6000 rounds. I find this to be much underestimated and others have shot T97's with more than 20,000 rounds through them."

I would definitely take that 6000 round figure with a grain of salt.

I do know it's from the t97a. But most norc manuals say that. The norc m4 only says 5000 It will probably be fine after 6000 rounds but just the fact that it says that bothers me. I'm way to picky.

Do you know were I can look for this gouge in the barrel?

Remove the gas piston, and you'll see a hole drilled there. Shine a light down the bore and you should be able to see if the barrel is clear or has a gouge.

What he said ^^ Look up the thread 'Gouge in barrel land in t97' sorry I don't know how to post the link I'm new to the forum
