That one was a '54 Tula in a beautiful laminate stock. Pics don't do her justice. She's a very, very dark laminate and the blued bayo looks really ###y on her

EE is your friend. But be careful, as there's ALOT of USGI junk out there that people call "mint condition", "excellent condition", etc.

Yeah, I would agree... the blued bayo refurbs are REALLY attractive, as are the darker stocks.

Between weimajack and Westrifle, I have also been spoiled with beauties. Kudos also to CGN "Flamingchicken" (gotta love that name), as he hand-picked me two beauties (free of cosmo) as well... and no, I don't mind paying a bit more for exceptional SKS's.

Yeah, me neither. I dropped $400 on an unissued 1950 transitional piece from Weimajack without even thinking about it

When you think about it, $400 is #### all for a high quality rifle with an interesting history. The average I pay for an SKS, with some exception, is about $400, but I demand perfection, and weimajack (and Westrifle to a degree) deliver!
I would like to get ONE more SKS to complete my collection, but it's alluding me: A non-refurbished EARLY 1950, to compliment my early 1950 mild refurb. I am convinced that this is even rarer than a 1949.

Yeah, my 1950 has the early dust cover with the date looking more like an engraved '49 rather then the later stamped dates they started doing in late 1950 but it would be awesome if she had all early parts instead of some later ones. Still, makes her a nice transitional piece.

Any non-refurb is special. We are so lucky to have access to what seems to be an unlimited supply of exceptional SKS's. However, we all know that supply will dry up in the short term... and everything that we own will be even more special !!
