EDIT: Got a new one : )

M48A....passed the bore inspector !

She's caked in cosmo below the wood line, and the stock is still greasy with it. The hand guard sits proud of the fore stock, by as much as an 1/8th of an inch at the rear sight, but it's solid as a rock. Action is a bit stiff, but locks up like concrete. Love it !

thanks guys...

One of the No.1's I've restored ( just easy replace parts etc, no gunsmith type stuff)...learned a ton....with a lot of help from some really great guys here..

my new favourite is the No.5 Mk1...it's a ROF (F) 2/45 dated, all matching (un-stamped mag), non-FTR'd rifle with the correct 800 yard sights. Bore is a mirror and it's got the early stock.

love it...thanks hpschiem !

(actually...the No.1's are my real favourites....don't tell the No.5 !)

I'm loving your No.1 mk3's Vermintrex...Give us a description. What yr are they? Have you shot all of your collection yet? That's my biggest challenge, getting everything out for decent range time. Oh for the good old days when surplus .303 was pennies for the pound.

Some nice editions recently! I like that M48.

thanks jb...she's really nice..the stock isn't fit that great, but it's in perfect shape.

Feels so much fatter than the K98k's...although the comb is quite thin.

I have a good friend from Serbia...she's always talked about how her father "found" rifles..or was storing them for others, lol.

..this seemed like a nice tribute to her and her family's history....they've lived in Belgrade since before time eternal.

My minty M48A has basically the same stock fit. I think its pretty normal from what I've seen. Overall they are pretty nicely made Mausers at an affordable price.
