Did you clean the rifle right after you got your rifle back from movie arms?

I just had a thought: did they test fire with corrosive ammo, and if they did, did they clean it afterward?

I'd be bummed if I received my rifle back and didn't use it for months only to see rust. Any thoughts?

Nobody can answer your question except for Movie Arms.

Funny you asked that as I thought the same. Movie arms apparently put 20 rounds through mine and the dealer I bought it from also put 20 rounds through the pipe to ensure reliability. I did not clean it when I recieved it and it would appear they did not either other than add some oil, Shot it 2-3 weeks later and inspected prior with no corrosion. I was kicking myself for not inspectring it earlier but all was good.

To answer your question I am positive they would not shoot corrosive ammo without cleaning it before shipping. It would be easy for you to blame them for a corroded rifle I am sure it is documented. To be safe it would not hurt to give it a quick clean.

Actually, your question was :

Those are your own words.

My words were "I just had a thought: did they test fire with corrosive ammo, and if they did, did they clean it afterward?" - in other words: that's what I'm thinking and is the motivation for my question, not my actual question. This is a classic case of quoting out of context.

Seriously - why fight someone over their question, especially if they clarified afterward. This is the second clarification. Do you still want to argue with me about what I am asking?

According to them they clean it regardless of ammo. They did not answer my question about what ammo they actually use. Maybe a case of only reading half a sentence that some people are apt to do. Does the bolt and pin need to be washed out with hot water? I've seen videos where they only washed the barrel and gas chamber with hot water, but wouldn't the salts get in around the pin?

Whats the point of this thread ?

Really simple. With "truth", there's always "my truth", "your truth" and "the truth". I can ask Movie arms what they do, and I have done. But I need to verify with the experiences of people who actually receive their rifles back. After all, even though Movie Arms claims to have cleaned the rifles, we don't know how well they were cleaned.

When someone tells you a gun is unloaded do you take their word for it ?

Just clean the rifle yourself, it's as easy and as simple and that, then you can sleep well again.

So if you're "thinking to yourself" wether they used corrosive ammo or not, why don't you call them and ask?? What does it matter if others have cleaned their rifles or not? If I tell you I received my rifle and didn't clean it, is that my truth, your truth, or the truth? Does it mean you'll be in my exact situation??

By the way, the fact that you're thinking about a question doesn't make it less of a question....maybe you should review how to use question marks...

I agree, end this foolishness...

you're very argumentative. There's nothing you can gain from this, yet you just want to argue so you can be right. I already clarified myself, but it's not good enough - because you think you're right.

My point is you can just ask Movie Arms what their procedure is in order to know if you have to clean your rifle or not.

Asking other people if they have cleaned theirs accomplishes nothing as far as your interrogation wether or not corrosive ammo was used to test your rifle.

You're right there's nothing I can gain from this. You however, might gain something by listening to the advice you don't want to hear so stubbornly.
