Used remington 700 ot new mossberg 4x4????

Im in the market for a new deer rifle but inexpensive also, i can get anew mossberg 4x4 .300 mag for 400.00 with no scope in synthetic stock or a used rem 700 sps stainless in .300 WSM for 550.00 in ghreat shape, what would you do considering i will need to buy a scope for whatever i buy.

Zastavas are great... Op could buy a rem 798 and have best of both worlds... Mauser action, modern stock and some refinement...

The last Zastava I owned was rough as a corn cob. I don't know if current production is better.

Zastava is rough, true. But for the prices its at least all good steel and wood.

Find a vintage 700 BDL, or even a 721, in excellent shape and don't look back. I've seen a couple of really nice 721's in the $400 to $500 range.
