Grab a 7-08 for now. With a wee bit of trigger time you'll soon man up and realize you need to move up to a magnum chambering of some sort,preferably a .460 wby.
You will then be free to hand down your puny 7-08 to the kids or the old lady. Did you know the 7-08 was designed specifically for the wife? FACT!

I have a 7-08 and everyone always calls it the ladys rifle. It shoots great and I havent had a problem with it knocking down deer. I find the recoil is low enough I can shoot the rifle all day.

7mm-08 is an excellent cartridge, no ladies' rifle by any means. It works well on game and shoots flat enough for 99% of "real" (non-Internet) hunters. Light recoil is just a bonus. The slender, high ballistic coefficient projectiles let it stretch out and retain energy/velocity for a good distance. In a standard size/weight rifle it's a joy to shoot and affordable, too.

It really tugs at my heartstrings to think that in this day and age there are still hunters out there who have no internet access.
Something needs to be done here.
