You entitled the thread with "hand primer" but mentioned that it did a better job than your RCBS press. I will make the following assumptions:So I just picked up one of these and wow, it works a lot better than the one on my rcbs rock chucker. That thing wasn't seating the primers to the proper depth.
Anyway if you are wondering, it is a great purchase. I wonder if will shrink my groups![]()
You entitled the thread with "hand primer" but mentioned that it did a better job than your RCBS press. I will make the following assumptions:
1. You are referring to the priming arm on your RCBS press.
2. You have purchased either the Lee XR auto prime or the Ergo-prime.
3. You are not referring to the Lee Ram Prime attachment that screws into the die portion of the press.
Now, if my assumptions are correct, then, congrats. I LOVE my Lee hand primer (I have the old auto prime and the XR) gets the job done efficiently and always primes perfectly.
See, I don't understand why a man of your experience is having trouble. Seemed pretty clear to me where the OP was trying to go. Luckily, you were able to post in here with some meaningless drivel and increase your post count.what are you talking about?

lol, i can do it too!See, I don't understand why a man of your experience is having trouble. Seemed pretty clear to me where the OP was trying to go. Luckily, you were able to post in here with some meaningless drivel and increase your post count.
Well, it was clear enough to me to make 3 assumptions which were completely correct, and I am usually the one hammering people for clarity and bad posts, but, I guess I played with the single stage stuff longer using the priming arms on the presses, the Lee Ram Prime system, and both the original Lee auto-prime and the XR before I jumped into the progressive press and became an internet expert on here. No, it wasnt clear, at least give us a name.
"So I just picked up one of these and wow, it works a lot better than the one on my rcbs rock chucker."
There is no hand priming tool on the rock chucker...
Hand tool working better than the priming on press on the rcbs? Lets admit the whole sentence wasnt very clear.
I have the ergo prime, it works fine. I guess the auto prime also works fine.
Priming on the press is also fine.
....

I believe, not long ago, you were defending Lee Precision's honour until you bought a Dillon, now EVERYTHING is progressive. Not long ago (and I mean months) you were looking on here for info as a newbie, what is the best ______, yet now you offer EXPERT advice on casting, press design and use, die design and uses, and all other aspects of reloading. Seems like every week you are buying a new piece of kit and the next, offering EXPERT opinions on its use, reliability, utility, and functionality even though most of them are echoes of other members comments. I wish my 30yrs of doing this and building experience had come so quickly.
