Like Smcx said, the application is given to the CFO (your provincial RCMP) and they also conduct the background checks & say yes or no. Nope it is not abnormal.![]()
I thought in Ontario the CFO was the OPP. Regardless, what Smcx said is that after his application was finished by the RCMP (ie. interviews completed) they sent it for "final approval" to the Ontario CFO and s/he has apparently been waiting for weeks. In my case that step seems to have been skipped. As soon as my interviews were complete, the same day the application status changed to issued and the license arrived in the mail a few days later.
Clearly either my situation is unusual or Smcx' situation is unusual....they can't both be the norm in the same province.
