Why does Colt 6920 cost a premium?

not trying to start crap here but after my 3rd AR buy this year, a Colt, LE version. It does feel like business are trying to get rich off of every single sale. You buy a $2000 AR and after a few extras and a optic then the tax.....DAMN. But what do i know. I do love my AR 15's. Also After dropping that kind of money on a rifle there should be some free swag, a tshirt or a damn hat. The only swag i got was from my BCM purchase from One Shot Tactical. 2 videos, hat, 7 stickers, 6 posters, that was pretty cool.

Hey bubba when did you get a colt??

Well. Now the US elite force not even use the colt. They use HK instead

For near $3000 I will pick a used MR223 over this colt crap anyday.

Which I just did.

Talk about building quality. Colt not even come close to HK

Didn't the prices drop drastically lately? I remember a few years ago at their height, a 6920 was over $3400, and now they are half of that, back to ~$1700.

Still $400 too high IMO, but much better.

Canadian firearm, especially AR-15 prices do not reflect reality. Look at the U.S. market if you want to compare quality/prices.

Colt is the standard for a reason.

I've never owned a H&K so I can't comment on their quality but Colt is hardly "crap" Maybe a little over priced but not crap. For years the Colt 6920 was what all others were judged by! But time goes by and some of the others have learned and improved their product so they now meet or exceed that level of build and function quality.

If you still want a well made and reliable AR you won't go wrong with a Colt if that is what you have your heart set on.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Please stop posting so the rest of us that are still sane can stay that way.

IMO, any AR over 2000.00 is pretty much a cash grab for the big manufactures, $3000.00-4000.00 priced AR's is pretty much insane, they do very little more if anything at all compared to a 1000.00 AR. You are paying for the big name and all the feel good hype associated to it, if you have the $$$ and need the image then fill your boots of course lol.

I would bet that the Norinco CQA is Canada's top selling AR and will be for some time although prices seem to be dropping on US made AR's lately

I've owned several AR's, from Norks to LMT's, and a few in between. I'm also a big fan of Swiss Arms rifles, for both their quality and reliability. In my years shooting, I've had the chance to play around with some top end AR's (KAC, PWS, H&K, etc.), and can definitely say that there is a difference, even between something like an LMT (that is considered to be a very high quality AR), and a KAC. There is the law of diminishing returns, i.e. a $3000 KAC won't perform 2x as well as a $1500 LMT, but there is definitely a difference.

Drop by our store.

We have AR's from priced at $850 and $4500 and everything in between in stock.

I'd be happy to let any one compare them.

This.

They do the same thing (fling lead down range), but the top tier AR's (KAC is a prime example) are unmatched in quality, refinement, and longevity. Sure, a $1000 AR will perform just as well as a $4500 AR for those that casually put a few hundred rounds a year down range at their local club, but to say that the more expensive ones are a "cash grab" is... an uninformed conclusion.

Well. Maybe call it crap is a bit over but it does not worth $3000 compare to HK or KAC etc

But now the current market price around $1400 is more like what it worth

I have been handle both (and still own the HK) so I will say the HK got better quality and design

The only problem for the MR223 is the heavy profile civilian match barrel which make it super nose heavy

it need to be trim down to mel spec or replace with a real 416 barrel but cost a lot of $$$

Oh really ?? So you have better idea what you are talking about ?
Then please prove I am wrong.

Have you ever handle both MR223 and a LE69xx ?? Or ever own any of those or both?

I will think he is on drug if whoever tell me Colt has better building quality over the HK
