I'm in the market for my first AR15 and did plenty of research on lots of entry level ar15.
As you can see, my price range is in the $1000-1200.

Read many review on all 4 rifles and just like anything, there are so good and bad comments.
Just wanted an opinion which would be the preference.

I believe they all have lifetime warranty.

Thanks for your inputs

I used to have an Armalite. It was the best AR that I ever had. Accurate. well-made and reliable. Armalite has been in the business for quite some time now and have a good rep.

The ruger uses a propietary piston setup. And I am not entirely sure the carrier tilt on them have been resolved. Either way I would recommend a di gun. I have a core15 with magpul furniture but the base rifle operates wonderfully. Incidentally it is for sale.

If I were in the market for a 1-1.2k AR this is what I would get:

Spikes 10.5" $1299 at Questar (3 in stock)

CORE 15

These guys are the new kids on the block and out to make a name for themselves.

Depending on what operating system you chose - you get a chrome lined Barrel for the DI, or Stainless Barrel for the Piston. They're QC and warranty is unbelievable - and last but not least, Wanstalls is their Canadian distributor.

Gary, Dan and the boys are about as much 'buying with confidence' assurance you could ever want.

Any comments on the Sig M400?

I took a course at Sigarms Academy for an entire week I shot the Sig M400 without any failures. I shot approx 1500 rds plus during the week.

I used an Armalite AR15 as part of my duties for 4 years and I found it very reliable. Both performed flawlessly and actually looking to purchase a new M400.

Cheers

Don't they all come with chrome lined barrel, m4 feed ramp...?
The problem for me to decide is because it is my 1st AR15 and don't have much experience with them. After comparing the specs of the Armalite, Core15, Sig M400 they seem to be all the same except for the logo.

Anyone know why the Core15 is only 5.9lbs while most are in the 6.7lbs range?

Mine with full magpul moe furniture and magpul acs stock actually weighed in at 7lbs. It's for sale incidentally

You are right about that , i got 2 on layaway first a Core 15 piston with the 1 in 8 SS Match Polygonal barrel + a Wyndham SRC 16 D.I. so now i got one of each system... JP.

CORE15 if you want a hobby gun.

Any of the others you listed if you want a proven name.

Over the next year, i will surely buy 4 or 5 others name, i like the trial and error system, it always give you the best at the end... JP.

This if you want detachable carry handle.

No need of carry handle, I already have the Aimpoint Pro.

Core15 as Hobby gun, Not sure I understand? Is it because its unproven yet?

The S&W M&P15T looks pretty gun but not sure who has it in stock? irunguns has it but the item is still in the states and that might take more time for transfer.
