SKS Storage Crate @ Princess Auto

Hey don't know if anyone posted this yet .
I came across these surplus 105mm wooden ammo crates at Princess Auto today
If you want a crate to store up to 4 SKS rifles these will be perfect .
You have to make an internal divider but the SKS fit's perfectly .
The price was $24.99 . Hinged lid with clasp for lock . Rope carry handles .

I also use ammo crates for reloading stuff, cleaning supplies and one even has my boot polishing kit

25 bux is a good profit for sumthin they prolly got for 0. cool to see. I didnt see any in my store yesterday I always stop by the surplus section. best price on ammo cans when they go on sale

I just grabbed one at the Mccowan and 401 location.
Looks to be a box that used to hold two tank canon shells..105mm.

A local gun shop quoted me $200 for an empty SKS crate, and claimed that they sold them easily at that price.

Then again, they also wanted $75 for an empty 7.62x39 Ukrainian ammo crate, and it was shoddy and beat to heck.

So, Princess Auto seems to be offering a decent price on a nice sturdy crate. Too bad there aren't any PA stores within 7 hours of my place...

Ottawa store had a out 25 of them today, grabbed one. They are real nice!

My local CT has SKS and Mosin crates for $50. I might buy one of the smaller 10 gun SKS crates, attache a hasp lock and start my own ammo surplus.
These ones are a little smaller so I'll go check these out today at PA.

The Edmonton store has a stack of them. $25 each. Not in the best of shape, but one still had the radioactive class II sticker on it.

The Mississauga store had roughly a dozen on the floor when I was there earlier today. Mixed bag of condition ranged from newish to cracked and beaten.
Picked one up, now I have to figure out what I'm going to use it for.
