My buddy is driving from NS to Ontario right now, he stopped to refuel and saw this pull into the gas station in Quebec.
This pic was taken 10 mins ago. So much for not displaying your kill, and freaking out the antis.

I try to not display my kills if hunting away from home and travelling, but dependant on vehicle and distance I sometimes have to.... At the end of the day, I really could care less what the antis think of me... I do what I have to do to get my game home so I can complete the harvest and honour my animal by buthchering it and using it to it's full intent....

It's traditional in Quebec, Ontario and the New England states to display the deer on top of hunters vehicles...........I've even witnessed it in Alberta multiple times, however; not as common as the east part of North America.

My kills are carried inside a vehicle, more so to keep it clean, than to keep people from seeing it. I don't see the point of driving around with the opened up carcass being exposed to road salt, dirt and grime.

I used to see mooses and deer on top of trucks in QC City when I was younger. As a kid, seeign them so often every hunting season made it normal for me. Stop hidding in the closet people, that's how we become marginalised.

Same here.

I am sure that he had a lineup of liberals in Prius's following him down the highway honking and having their Trudaeu bobbleheads at him..

I bet the guys who strapped it like that to the quad were having a good laugh looking at it in the rear view mirror while going down the highway. I know I would be, that looks pretty funny.

X2

Stop hiding your guns and hunting. It's normal and legal to hunt.

Because I do not hunt, I have never thought of hiding your kill.
I like the idea of not hiding the fact that I legally harvested a deer, but I also agree with the gentleman above about keeping the deer clean.
If someone else were sensitive to that sort of thing. They may get uptight about seeing a dead deer driving his 4 wheeler down the highway.

Just for the record I don't care myself. I just remember this from the Hunter Education course telling us to be discrete and respectful to the population around us. Somewhere along the lines of not wearing your blaze orange vest and cap while grocery shopping and not tying your deer to your hood lol

Give the man a chocolate bar!!! :dancingbanana:

Hide your guns!; hide your kill!; hide the dirty little secrets until our lifestyle becomes a perversion to the general public. :yingyang:

Funny that the people so proud to have stepped out of the closet are trying to put hunters in the closet.

Yeah, we are our own worst enemy. Hunter ed courses teach us to be ashamed of hunting. It's bizarre.

The general rule when driving back from Northern Ontario with moose openly visible in the trailer is about one middle-finger salute for every five thumbs-up from passing vehicles.
