After almost 40 years in the West, I have decided to move back to Ontario where I can be closer to my relatives. I moved to Alberta in 1974, and have had some of the best years anyone could ask for. At almost 73 years old, I have found that the Mountains are getting steeper, the horses are getting taller, and the air is getting thinner with less oxygen content. I think maybe Global Warming has something to do with it.:D

To those many Collectors, Target Shooters, Hunters, and Dog People amongst others, I would like to thank you for the privilege of making your acquaintances, your friendship, and the memories of those hunts, Gun Shows, shoots, and campfires that you have shared with me.

As many of you know, my first loves are those wonderfully accurate Swedish Mausers, particularly the FSR target rifles, along with the SMLE, Lee-Enfields and the Ross rifles. I will be taking some of these with me, but I think I would almost need a Semi to get everything in, and there is simply not enough room where I am going. I will be putting a lot of rifles on the EE later as time allows, but if anyone has a special need for something to fill a hole in their collection, or want a great shooting milsurp, then you might want to drop me a PM before the stuff gets listed or taken to a Gun Show.

This does not mean, however, that I am going to give up shooting, some collecting, and keeping current on GunNutz -- heaven forbid. It does mean that I am downsizing a bit.

what area of Ontario are you going to? Its to bad you have to down size, as I was thinking to ask if you wanted to buy my Swedish goodness.

Sorry to hear that Buffdog! How soon is the move happening? Was really hoping to meet you, Smellie and the others next summer if you guys' shoot was happening still.

what area of Ontario are you going to?

Well, he's not allowed around the Hamilton, Burlington area.

Toooooooooo many guys now already scooping up the goodies at the gun shows.

Sir buffdog, welcome home.

Ontari Ari Oh has changed, oh brother has it changed.

As gaff said, what part of Ontario will you be joining?

Boy, are you going to be disappointed!...

Actually, I am moving to Brantford. I was born there, and have three Sisters in that area. If you had asked me about moving six months ago, I probably would have given you an answer that equated that with the chance of a Snowball in a very warm and nasty place. However, circumstances do change, and I did take a long and hard look at it before deciding.

But you probably have six months or so to grab what you can before I start poaching.Laugh2 However, I will be staying with a Sister for a while and the space is a bit limited. If you attend any Auctions or Gun Shows, you might want to identify yourself with a flourescent green shirt that has red stripes on it and wear one of those little beanie caps that has a propellor on top of it. That way, I will make sure that I do not outbid you. :D

A more probable scenario is that you might get a PM suggesting a small lunch or coffee some where. I have been known to do that, and even buy once in a while.:) It is always good to meet fellow gun nuts.

Well, well, well

Brantford it is.

I spent allot of time there on weekends growing up.

I participated in the event of throwing snowballs at the city buses with good ole Wayne Gretzky.

He is a few years younger than me but he went to school with my cousin from Brantford.

He loved doing that until his father collect him up for hockey practice.

I guess that paid off.

There is a nice little Military Museum in town also.

I'm not too far away, Waterdown, Ontario.

We have a great circle of milsurp collectors around the area.

There has been allot of milsurp activity in this neck of the woods lately.

Collections of everything you can think are coming for sale due to an aging generation passing away.

Once you get settled, by all means give me a PM.

Manitoba's loss is our gain. Don't get dowh to that area much any more. Used to live in St. Thomas over 40 years ago. Would have liked to make the get-together at Long Branch. If they have another one, maybe I will see you there. Would also have liked to attend the shoot you and Smellie hosted in Virden.

dang it Buffdog Smellie is gonna be whining for weeks and he's going to be locked in the sock closet and some poor soul is going to have to coax him out.

It is a shame to lose you to Ontario but situations change and what not so enjoy the lower taxes!

also you would run away after I just got a M96 1916 Swedish mauser!
