Surplus Garands from South Korea westrifle.com

For unknown Surplus. $250. Could be damaged stock, sights, poor bore, maybe even unsafe. These would be Rifles tossed in a pile.

Rifles, used, but cleaned. Stored reasonably well. Good Stocks, Very Good Bore, No Damage. $400-$500. Maybe a 'Hand Select" option

Rifles from a Crate, stored in a warehouse. Un-issued. $800

I think people are being a little idealistic on prices here. It's not likely that the Garand will drop to as low as $200, and hell, if they're only $500 we're probably going to be lucky. Chances are, much like the RC K98s, beat up ones will go for $550, and because it's a Garand the nicer ones will go for somewhere around $1000-1200. All I want, really, is one with a shootable bore and no rust. I don't care if the wood is beat to high hell, if the bore and metal are good I'd be willing to pay $800.

So how much would people pay for brand new Springfield Armory Garands. Just wanted to know how everyone knows the price for those in USA

Not if there are 1000's to choose from .

How much does a new Springfield M1A go for? Add about $500 on to that, likely. Would I buy it, no, I lack the financial fortitude to consider such a purchase, but I'd expect the price to be well in the realm of $2000.

Sergey, aren't you just baiting the "Medal of Honor" crowd with this thread? You aren't going to charge less than the RC K98 prices for working authentic M1 Garands - that would be irrational and anti-market. This isn't 1995 with Danish Garands at $250. You know what you'll charge - slightly less than US market prices because they can't get their hands on them. Did you or anyone else answer the critical question? How do you get these into Canada when the US must approve the re-export from S. Korea, and their current administration would rather see them sent to the smelter than sold anywhere else in the world? If you can get these landed, you are the go-to retailer because you price fairly and we can see before we buy.

I personally don't consider this to be baiting, although at 16 posts you may feel otherwise. Two years ago Westrifle brought up a discussion about the possibilities of bringing in a batch of Russian M38s, and while many many just wrote if off as a joke and a pipe dream and unwilling to wait, I have an almost mint condition M38 sitting in my safe.

You might further notice that nobody else in Canada is even considering such an import of M1 Garands. I'm pretty sure that that Westrifle knows all about import permits and the fact that they have to sit on their investment and cost of shipping for many months until the bureaucrats rubber stamp the paperwork to allow sale onto the Canadian market.

Nobody can predict the future, but if these boys manage to bring them in, I know a very nice M1 Garand will be put aside with my name on it :)

One further point, concerning battle rifles, the Lee Enfield is the "Medal of Honor" in Canada. You've read the wrong history book.

You can rest assured that only the most inattentive retailers on this site didn't notice the feeding frenzy that Marstar's so called deals created.
Show me the rifle and I'll show you the cash.

I did notice that at least one other major sponsor is talking Garand imports, so they're likely together on the deal. It's not a regular matter of stamping paperwork or these rifles would have been here years ago. As an individual on the other thread asked: Since these rifles were provided to South Korea under their lend lease program which prohibits re-exportation without US permission, and the current US administration (rabidly anti-gun) has already stopped other re-export deals, why would Canadian importers have any more luck? I figured Sergey would be more likely to provide a straight answer here.

Because we're not the U.S.?

assessing the situation, I don't see what other markets Korea has to sell off these rifles to. I don't know what the world demand is for these but I would say the denial by the US government gives our market some bargaining power. Having said that, I read about proposed legislation by a republican that would allow the sale to continue. I wonder if the Koreans are putting stock in that....Much is up in the air at this point.

Love shopping there for that reason !!! :) .
& I would be in for one at a reasonable price given condition..not fussy ..even just a good shooter at a good price would be nice to join the garand club :) love the history and the rifle but not the current overpriced ones
400-650 for a good shooter maybe?

I was going to post a similar message...... and Sergey, make sure you have lots of (surplus) ammo in 30-06 if/when you get them!!!

You lads would be much better getting into reloading than hanging your hopes on old milsurp ammo that might not even exist.

At the very least there is the satisfaction in crafting an accurate load for your fine classic rifle, as opposed to blasting away with random minute-of-man stuff.

Slightly reduced reloads will also be far kinder on the hardware than what would probably end up being old machine gun ammo anyway.
