So I recently bought, and broke the carbide tip on my new forster outside neck turner. Forster was great and sent me a new part. Inthe instructions it says to fl size the brass first. I originally used a 308 die from hornady which was causing the problems. The expander ball must be .00005 thou to small and makes the case neck to tight. Switched to the old Lee dies, problem solved. The neck pilot was tight but not to tight giving me a very confident cut. Thought I would sharemy expieirence.

I think it is understood that you are FL sizing with a FORSTER sizer 
many FL sizing dies oversize brass. I do not know why are there is nothing positive about this but I guess it ensures brass that is super thin will still size.
Best thing is to use a Lee collet neck sizer or bushing die. Some will even go to an expander matched to the mandrel. Ideally, you want the cutter mandrel to be a slip fit to the neck. If you need to PUSH the mandrel into the neck, it will likely not cut evenly.
Get a tubing mic and check to ensure you are not creating more grief for yourself.

I thought you didn't want to use a bushing die before neck turning? Something about the bushing causing a small bulge in the bottom of the neck since the bushing itself has a bevel to guide the neck in. If you turn it, you'll weaken the base of the neck.
Or am I out to lunch?
Yeah, I figured they would want you to use their FL sizer to keep with the forster name, but that wasn't an option. The lee kit seemed to allow the pilot to glide in quite nicely. All my brass was already resized and ready for loading also, so I guess its just my impatietiance for waiting to shoot this batch of brass and then neck turn them afterwards. I was just taking off the high side of the brass, and according to the forster case inspector the runout is nearly zero 0.0005 just a extremely slight needle bounce.
