How many others have wives that hate you going hunting?

My wife doesn't mind the hunting but doesn't like me taking off for a week while she has to basically take care of our 4 year old son full time. I figure it's a compromise. I don't mind if she wants to do something. I would happily take care of him full time for a week if she wanted to go off for something, so I don't let it bother me.

She also doesn't like that I use up one week of my vacation time for gun season.

I had to cancel my hunting season this year due to a financial reason, she was upset because she was hoping I would bring her some deer meet to can!!

I can't relate to this attitude at all.My wife has been on board with hunting and shooting right from day one of our relationship.In fact,the very first time my wife met any of my family members was on a trip up to my folks place to hunt moose in the fall of 1986.It's only gotten better since.My wife loves to shoot and a couple of our more recent purchases have been for her side of the gun cabinet,an absolutely gorgeous older Ithaca 37 Featherlight in 16 ga. and a Husqvarna 25-20 single shot that likewise is in great shape.Like some other guys have pointed out I'm sorry for your situation,must be difficult.

My GF doesn't mind me going hunting one bit, and why should she. All she has to do is open the freezer and pull out the deer chops. Didn't cost her financially or in time spent.

Every female in the family hunts and shoots restricteds. My only problem is I have to take time off work to go to the range alone.

I have an X wife that didn't like me hunting so much but she sure liked the meat. She still gets the meat from time to time, just less these days.
