Damn, that's a big gun (500S&W)

Just got my newest addition, a S&W 500. What a tank! Just the blue factory box gives a good look into the massive size of the gun. The blue box has to be somewhere around 3x the size of my M&P box. It's got a beautiful black finish on it, which I haven't seen anywhere.

That's the 500 that was on the EE a few weeks ago, I can't remember where the guy said he had it coated, but I definitely like the look of it.

I'm holding onto the three. I take out a lot of new shooters, and have a feeling these will be responsible for hooking a few new shooters!

Yup, it is! If I remember right, it was Casey at Tac Ordnance. I had a good look at it, but didn't finely inspect it. The finish looks really well done though. I'm interested to see how it stands up

That's the guy/place, I'm also interested to see how durable the coating is, I have a Raging Bull that's starting to get some wearing of the bluing on the barrel and I have been thinking about having it refinished.

I've always liked the look of the Raging Bull. I still remember when they came out with the 454 Casual!

I can understand that. The shock wave is so intense you can sometimes feel a tiny bit nausead by it for whatever reason

Sometimes when I shoot my 460V it kind of feels like I got punched in the nose, you can feel it in your sinuses.
 
I had the chance to try Mildcustom2 's 500S&W a few months ago.
What a crowd pleaser!
I didnt believe MC2 when he said he could fire full power loads with one hand. But he did manage to do so. Once.
So naturally I tried it as well. Once.

How was it to manage? Could you have gone round 2 if you really wanted to?

Yup, and I managed to get one of my girl friends interested in shooting the .460 and the 500. I did the old "I don't know if girls could even handle something that big" and "You really think you could handle it?" Anyhow, in a few weeks the next I'm headed out to the range with her to make a video haha.

Id just put one round in to start, ya dont want a double fire. ;)
 
iamcanadianeh> How is the recoil of that wood grip compared to the factory grip with the nice cushioning? 500 is punishing on the wrist.

Replaced the wood grip on my 44 Mag with the rubber grip to lessen the punishment.



Just holding the 500 steady with one hand is hard enough, that sucker is heavy.
