Ya and the arising rail wear problem looks delicious too!
If you're going to buy a Cz/Vz do so BEFORE buying an AR, or any rifle that runs 10 round mags. Once you're used to running 10 rounds, 5 seems like you're always out. Also, WRT ammo - the current glut of surplus won't last forever, and once it's gone 7.62x39 is an expensive cartridge to shoot, even if you reload.

this is from people running them bone-dry of course its going to wear out. i use grease and my rails are perfect
There is a board member that will modify your SKS to use 7.62x39 AR mags for a modest sum. I had him do one for me and it's a great little rifle. Nothing wrong with the CZ/CSA rifles but my SKS with mods cost under $450 and it can legally use the 10 shot LAR mag. I have a CSA VZ58 with less than 20 rds through it that i never use since the SKS experiment turned out so well.

Except if they ever reclassify the non restricted firearms...even if you hide them, you will never be able to shoot it again without running the risk of being caught and go to jail for a couple years.

Of all my guns, not including my .22, the SKS is hands down by far the cheapest to shoot for newly manufactured rounds (I never buy surplus). Actually , I am curious what rifle round is cheaper then it?
