Hi, i was just wondering if anyone knows about the availability of the semi auto barret 50 cals like the M107A1 and 82A1?

Thanks,

Barrett M82 was prohibited by name by the Liberals along with several other of their models then in existence. New models developed afterwards that aren't variants are legal in Canada and most are completely non-restricted. However, the US State Dept., has had severe export restrictions in place on just about anything. 50 BMG for a number of years. That is why most Big .50 shooters have been sourcing much of their components, etc., out of Europe, etc.. There are indications that some restrictions may be relaxed, but to what degree remains unknown.

As I recall, the M82A1 is prohibited by name, but I don't think the M82 is named. So, is it just the M82A1 that's prohibited, or is it the M82 and all variants?

Ammunition and guns are coming out of the US now again in 50 BMG, this is clear by the recent importation and sales of guns like the windrunner, armalite, serbu, and DTA which are all manufactured in the USA and even the Barret 99 is in stock at dealers again. How long this will last is anyones guess.
