I bought it used from a friend. Not sure what reticle but it has markings to 8 or 800 and other gaps and lines after that. It lights up red in the dark. Basement not outside. I was told it was from 1996 both rifle and scope. It was owned by a older man who used it a couple of times. It seems to be in great shape on the outside. I'll post after I try it Should I lube it before I try it

Run it wet
 
I haven't got a chance to try it out yet but my kitchen addition is almost done. Should be able to get out over Christmas break. A friend of mine showed up tonight with 10 mags for the AR. Don't know why I would need so many but I have them just in case.

You don't need that many. Send 8 of them to me for proper disposal.
 
10 is a good start. You'll NEED at least double that though :p

Learn how to strip it down then clean it and lube it well. If it's been sitting for a while you never know what's crawled into it or if all the oil has run off over time.

Buy as much ammo as you can afford, buying bulk helps save money.
I personally suggest staying away from norinco ammo but your free to run whatever you want. Just don't expect great accuracy from crap ammo.

Enjoy the AR, you've bought a good quality one for your first so you're off to a good start.
