Once Fired 45ACP Brass

Hi Everybody,

I am looking for once fired 45 ACP brass. They are hard to find locally.

Could somebody recommend a good place to buy them in Canada?

Where is "local" for you might not be local to someone else. Where are you in this great Canadian wilderness?

Here's a suggestion to get you going in the right direction to find your brass. Go to the Newbie FAQ section. Post a brief introduction message about yourself then click on the Click Here to Apply for Access to Equipment Exchange Forums link above the Equipment Exchange section and click on the link to join the groups after reading the rules etc.. In few days, you should have access. 45ACp brass shows up for sale there every so often.

Yeah, I've bought a lot of brass in the EE. I've still only reloaded like 50 rounds of 45, but I have several thousand brass waiting for the magical day I get a progressive press.

Don't limit yourself to only wanting once fired when your talking about low pressure 45 ACP brass. You, your press and your gun cannot tell the difference between once fired and 25 times fired. It's not the same as bottle neck rifle cases. Straight walled, low pressure pistol brass will last virtually forever, or until you lose it in the grass. I've got some 45ACP Brass that has been fired so many times the head stamps are gone :)
 
Thanks everybody. I am located near Montreal, Quebec. We can find pretty much everything for reload except brass.

I agree with Canadian_Zuk about the once vs many times fired brass since 45 ACP is a low pressure caliber.

As Tinimon was writing, I will join the equipment exchange group. Hopefully, I will be able to buy some brass soon. :)
 
I like to find my "once fired" brass just off to the right and behind my position as I fire factory rounds! I have purchased "once fired" brass that had cracks in the case mouth from too many poorly done reloads. Gone are the days when police and military shot new out of box ammo, policed up their range, and the truly "once fired" brass sold as surplus crown assets. Anything today called once fired is best described as "unwanted".
 
Buy a case of 1000 NORC ammo, pick up brass. Probably cheaper than buying brass, primer, powder and bullets (esp. jacketed bullets).
 
probably true that getting a case of norc 45 is the best way to get brass. almost as cheap as reloading anyway unless you cast
 
I have gone through quite a few of the 1000 round Norc wooden cases of 45. All the brass I can find at the end of the day goes into a bucket at the range. I suspect others do the same. What does your local range do with all the brass? Maybe if you volunteer to help out at the range you could get some of the brass for free?
 
.45 brass is cheap and easy enough to find to buy new. Once fired might be that daft small primer stuff. And it's essential you check for that.
