I managed to bust him and his girlfriend out of a patch of cat tails yesterday and the CZ swung nicley finding the crease right behind the front shoulder. I just bought this rifle for my birthday in July and it has a liking for 130g Accubonds and Reloader 19. This is my first animal with this rifle and I couldn't be more pleased. Decent bucks have been difficult to locate in my usual spots this year so the decision to take him was a rather easy one.

The swede is my favourite deer caliber and I foresee many more in her future. Good luck to the rest of you still out there.

NICE buck............155-160? Love my CZ FSes too took a walrus with the 9.3X62 and couldn't be happier with performance. Haven't even worked up a load for the 7X64 yet, got too many guns and too little time.............no time to hunt either.
Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!

You know Hoyt, I have always been nice and respectful to you but now you call me a walrus........I don't know..............:eek:;);)

I say that with the utmost respect! I am unable to personally attain such a prodigious and thoroughly regal facial coiffe! ;-)

Woah...that sure ain't nice of you. C-FMBI doesn't have tusks at all.

How would you know? You would have to get close enough to physically raise the upper lip adornment... And that is just too risky a procedure... I'll trail a wounded bear through a spruce thicket... Or a tiger through a cane swamp, or a buff through the brambles but I am not messing with that MOOOOSSSTACHE!

Well I can assure you Hoyt that there are no tusks, in fact there ain't even that many real teeth left, truth be told. As long as the "walrus" reference was soley aimed at my whiskers then I'll not take offence.......however if body shape is included then that's a whole different matter..........I could certainly stand to lose a few pounds but a "walrus", now that's just plain nasty.......:(

What the hell was this thread about anyway, it certainly wasn't about my manly figure and facial hair.........

I got a CZ 550 LUX this year. They're beautiful rifles and I was always using the Hornady SuperPerformance with only achieving 1.5" groups with a scope at 100 meters. One day I purchase a box of cheap Winchester SuperX and get back to back, 3/4" 3 shot group, 1/2" 3 shot group, then another 3/4" 3 shot group. Seems as though my CZ 550 likes the cheaper Winchester over anything. I originally wanted a CZ 550 FS in 6.5x55 but ended up getting the LUX in .270win.

I'm going hunting this weekend. I was scouting around last weekend and found tracks and turds but no deer. Hopefully I can pop my CZ's cherry and get its first deer soon. If not, I'll have to wait for spring bear season.

The buck is a fine example and the gun is a very fine specimen too. I'm still a bit hung up on having a sporter length snabel tiped forend however.
How long is the barrel on that 6.5x55?
