Tactical/Modded SKS Picture Thread (can we sticky this?)

I wonder. Do people understand the purpose of a flashlight on a rifle? Or is it just an accessory for the purpose of being an accessory?

Out of all the rifle on here, CharlesT's paratrooper wins. He didn't just buy something and slap it on. And big points for originality.

Strelok Russia, can you explain what you did to the bayonet again please?
You are also going to shine that flashlight 350 yards away and then snipe headshots with the sks?
Do you think the rifle is capable of the same performance without the added expense of the extensive mods?
Thanks

I think its all about esthetics , and it looks bad ass, and i like it . Its like a new paint job will not make your car go any faster but it sure looks good. Of course that flashlight wont help at that distance ,, but sure looks cool on the rifle. :)

LOL no i didnt mean the flashlight will be used for sniping at 350m away, haha no way. It's just for indoor/close range illumination when I will have to clear out buildings and have a CQB, thought the gun is a little long for CQB.

I cut off the stabby blade part of the bayo and used the handle part of it that mounts onto the bayo bracket to hold the cleaning rod in place. The bayo is what holds the cleaning rod in place. If you look closely at the closed bayo it contacts the cleaning rod and squeezes it against the barrel, preventing it from falling out during firing, which happened to me. That's its only purpose.

I think the rifle would have been capable of ~80% of the performance of its modified version, if speaking strictly about its shooting characteristics. There are many mods that make it more convenient to use, more modern in some ways, and more effective in certain scenarios. I will not be using some of the mods I did on it when I go out shooting at a gun range but those are meant to be there for future use. If I wanted a rifle strictly for plinking I would have left it mostly or completely stock. But this is my SHTF rifle and has the appropriate upgrages. Plus I just love modding.

I use my RI halo light when night shooting it works amazing at 100 yards in the dark.

Guys this thread is for those that appreciate modded sks rifles as per the first post

I think there are some must have mods for the SKS, IMO. Such as re-crowning to help with accuracy and a trigger job for safety and a nicer trigger. These "under the hood" mods don't change the look a bit but make a better and safer gun.

You can get a SKS Trigger Upgrade Package from High Caliber http://www.hical.ca/apps/webstore/products/show/3733168

I go one for my Chinese Type 56 and it made a big difference. Just got another for my Russian 45 but haven't installed it yet though.

Well not quite... my assault clip jams solid at five rounds which has prevented at least 3 puppy massacres. Instead it was a misdemeanor and petty fine...

Well that's very good i'm relieved! This fearmongering-government-enforced mass defect of all magazines is surely going to keep the crooks from acquiring the demonic 20 and 30 rounders that would surely plummet our society into chaos overnight. It's not like the mags can be unpinned and as far as we know there is no way a criminal can get the nefarious 30 rounders ANYWHERE, I mean they just don't exist in our country and that's that.

Well they were banned, you can't buy them anymore. That's how we stopped people from doing drugs.

...and that huge illegal weapons bust in Prince George was just a big misunderstanding... really the Banned weapons smuggled over the boarder to fuel the drug trade was just John doe deer hunter receiving a wrongly addressed package from the Zeta's...:p
