My 2013 Whitetail taken with my new CZ 550 FS in 6.5X55

The buck is a fine example and the gun is a very fine specimen too. I'm still a bit hung up on having a sporter length snabel tiped forend however.
How long is the barrel on that 6.5x55?

The barrel comes in at just about 20.5 inches. I have another 6.5x55 with a 24 inch barrel that gets about 100 fps better velocity with the same loads but he didn't seem to notice the difference.

I put the Warne quick detachable rings on it and for now a leupold 3x9 x 40 VX II. That I borrowed off another rifle. I intend to put either a compact or 2.5x8 on it, just have to decide.
Very nice rifle with lots of personality. When we were at P&D another fellow brought in a full stock CZ 452 on trade and Diane brought it directly to us as we were fondling the 550. My son purchased that as well.
It's hard to get out of there with your bank account sstill intact!
The Leopold is a good choice for that set up, unless you want to stick with a Europeian theme.

Sticking with a European theme would make sense and to be honest I hadn't given it much thought. Leupolds have just proven themselves to me and with the exception of one Redfield all my rifles sport them. I'd be open to the right European scope.

I put a Nikon 2.5x8 on my CZ 550 and looks kind of goofy to be honest. Looks like the scope is to high but if it was any lower, the bolt handle would hit the scope. I was originally going for an all Czech / European theme CZ 550 in FS chambered for 6.5x55 as well. I had a Czech made deer leather sling, CZUB have there own brand of CZ Scopes and I was going to pick up a 3x9 the next time I was in Czech Republic as well as CZ rings and I was going to use Sellior & Bellot brand 6.5x55. Then I ended up getting the LUX chambered for .270 and I threw the Czech idea out the window. Got Leupold rings, Nikon scope, and I still used the hand crafted leather sling I got in Czech Republic. Still very happy with my 550. I picked up a metal floor plate and magazine follower last time I was in Czech Republic to replace the plastic ones. The only things that are plastic on these rifles as of 2012. You can pick them up off the CZUB online store. To convert Kc to Canadian $, its roughly 20kc = 1$.

Thanks for the info. I intend to replace my floorplate as well. My follower is not plastic however my end cap feels like it is but I've been informed it's a metal alloy of some type, it has a plastic like feel to it. Scopes do have to sit a bit high with the 550's bolt throw but I don't find it to be a problem at all.

Neither do I. I get the perfect check weld with the way it is. The scope only looks like its too high but its not. If I could buy another scope for it, Id want something with a 40mm lens rather than the 32mm just to fill in the gap in between the barrel and the scope. That's what kind of makes it look a little goofy. If you see guys who got the see though scope rings where you can still use the iron sights, or the scope bases that change the 19mm dovetail to a weaver base, don't know why you would want to do that but you can, then the scope sits to high and its chin weld time.

Schmidt & Bender, Swarovski, Khales, Zeiss, these are your choices as far as european scopes are concerned. Expect to pay as much as you did for the rifle for bottom line though.
Personally I would stick with the Leopold. I think you will enjoy that rifle very much. It has already started to pay for itself.
