I have shot two different ones, and they are typical norinco quality.
Both i used funtion as a rifle should, they cycle, go bang when you pull the trigger, then eject when you open the bolt. The mags worked, but were nothing special, the latch that holds the mag in works, but could be much better. The stock is cheap wood of some sort and seems a little on the soft side, but it works fine for a plinking rifle.
The scope mounts are "weaver" two piece mounts, but odd, Weaver grand slam rings won't tighten down on them and stay loose, but burris rings worked without a problem. One the scope was pretty close in the middle of it's adjustment range, one was fine vertically, but had the windage adjusted to the right to its full travel, so the mounts may be drilled/tapped out of alignment, but easy enough to fix wish burris rings with inserts.
The trigger on both was adequate, not a polished match trigger, but certainly better than other guns i've used before.
The bolts on both had a couple small issues. One had some roughness on the inside of the chamber and on the back end of the bolt body itself, so it wasn't smooth going in or out. It doesn't affect function at all since it isn't in any critical areas, but it's not nice. The other had an extractor that was kind of squared off, didn't have the same chamfer as the other, and the extractor spring that was too long, which put too much pressure on the extractor and made it finicky to get it to slip over the rim of the round as you pushed in forward. Again, it still works, and you can easily remedy the problem with a bit of work, but it's not what you would expect from a new gun.
I have also used a JW-105, which is the same design but in .223, and it was the same type of stock/mag, etc. This one had no issues with the bolt, moved smoothly enough, no extractor problems, but the trigger guard was a little too shallow and the trigger would stick on the guard when all the way back and had to be manually pushed forward to reset it. It was easy to fix, a couple washers to shim the trigger guard out and file a little bit off the very bottom of the trigger and no issues since.
If you're looking for a fun, cheap little range toy, they are fine great for it, I've even used my .223 coyote hunting, but expect there to be some things that need to be tweaked out of the box (kind of like the m305's) and i wouldn't recommend it as a primary hunting rifle or something your life depended on.
