Haven't ordered one from Lever yet, but I'm sorely tempted.

Why's everyone jumpy about stock repairs? I like 'em. Adds character, and as long as it's done with some care, looks kinda neat. Part of her Glorious Military Experience in Defense of the Motherland.

All of mine have atleast 1 stock repair, does not bother me at all.

My 1940 izzy has 6 and old moderate level pitting on the barrel "exterior", its also a serial number in the low three digit range, reciever, bolt and trigger guard.... A rare gun apparently.

They all work and shoot fine and they look battle hardended, it's badass.

I wish I had many more.

For some reason I am tempted to order another, but no $25 hand select this time. I have a few of these but none had any repairs to the stock. The one I got from Lever is this first repaired one I'd seen. But at $200 its still a deal.

Any SVT-40 for $200.00 is a steal, it's actually retarded in my opinion. We are not really grasping just how good it is right now, honestly.

The americans due to a russian trade embargo are paying anywhere from 600 for a very rough one to over $2000.

You can currently get yourself 4 SVT's for the price of one mini 14.

I will post some photos tomorrow, just finished putting the rifle together one hour ago. One problem I run into was that all my POSP scopes had shell deflectors made for CZ 858 and they will not fit the new rail but I can show some photos with Russian red dot made for SVD rail. I will have to buy or steel from my inventory new POSP scope that was not done for CZ 858

Well put! I also like the stock repairs as it tells the owner it has seen life too. I love Soviet rifles but I am sad they were used to kill Germans. My grandmother was German. And please no Nazi comments. The common people of Germany were as much victims of war as anybody else.

I had relatives on both sides. My grandfather was in the German army. My fathers side was Polish. He was a transport driver for the Brits.

I wonder how many they have sold and how many are left... Tempted to get another but I'll be in trouble and I'll have to buy tons of jewellery to compensate

Here are the pics I promised yesterday of the SVT I received yesterday from Lever Arms. Notice the repair on the butt and one notch patched also.

I don't know that I would class either of those details as repairs. A repair implies to me that it was perfect but got damaged and was fixed. In the case of the stock on your rifle I think it came from the stock factory like that, the butt patch looks like its replacing a portion where a branch grew, and the notch was not needed so it was blocked off.

I am looking forward to seeing what you were able to do . I sure if you have a method of mounting optics on these SVT without breaking the bank or completely bastardizing the firearm. There are more then my self that would be interested in purchasing a tried and true solution.

So the rifle is done I only had Red Dot scope to be mounted on the rifle. POSP will arrive from Vancouver on Tuesday. Also I discovered but please don't lough (We sell Them) that the sight tool works as stock disassembly key it is the same size as the stock screw. I would like also to thank one member of this forum for doing a great job installing that mount on my SVT 40.
This is a Mosin POSP flat mount we had it welded to the side of the receiver, another job that has to be done small part of the stock has to be inleted to fit the mount

I had a buddy stop in there last Thurs . He said there were a few left . Said he looked through all of them & snagged the only one left without stock repairs for himself & grabbed me the next best with a small repair . He said the rest had major stock repairs .
