Accuracy International AW load testing results.

Yup...owning an expensive rifle can be a pain in the ass sometimes...everytime I have my PGW at the range it draws a crowd of window shoppers....everybody wants to know how much it costs and all the people not actually shooting have the $800 rifle at home that does just as good. Fact being, if you could have any rifle you wanted I doubt anybody would pick a Savage!
Once you own one of the top tier rifles you will understand what makes them so desireable and a pure pleasure to shoot!
I enjoy threads like this where someone achieves the pure joy of an awesome rifle!

That makes me sad, if I see an awesome rifle I ask to see if I can run a few rounds through it.
I don't get why people have to be so petty and hateful at someone elses success.
It's funny how you point out if you could have any rifle nobody would pick a savage, I own 2 savages and I completely agree. Yes the savage is a stellar rifle at a great price but it's not as good as a top shelf rifle.
I did ask a person once that was running his mouth with his turkish cz clone, if I gave him one pistol to own a HK USP, a M&P, his cz clone, real cz, which he would pick, he picked the USP(I did not have a USP at the time but still interesting how people are willing to bad mouth a product but then when given an option take that same product)
Same thing with cars, everyone seems to automatically hate exotic car owners, I was more intimidated and not really jealous, but when I went up to the guy with a carrera gt, and a f50 he was super nice and showed me around his car, revved it up, and I even scored a ride in a f430. Why be so petty and hateful?

If I came across you at a range with that pgw I would congratulate you on owning an outstanding rifle, and ask if I could bang a couple rounds through the rifle to see what it was like then move along.

I would absolutely let any someone interested shoot anything I own.
I also own some stock factory rifles that shoot very well and I enjoy shooting them.
There are in fact plenty of Savages, Remmys, Winchesters, etc that do shoot well.
I have spent a lot learning what I like and dislike, and when you find what really meets your expectations it's worth the dough no matter how much it was!

There is only one person that I have to justify my gun purchases to, and I am pretty sure it is no one on this board! If you want the AI, go for it! I will not mad or make fun of your rifle (maybe a little jealous!) and I will not talk smack about it either.

The guy that has the worst time with the gun envy issue and the "how much?" issue is the "famous" Roger from my home range (PCDHFC). Even on his youtube video of the W2000, everybody keeps asking "how much?", like there is some chance of them finding one for sale and buying it. So much so that he has to put "Please stop asking me how much does it cost! Thanks!" on his description. :) And I can say from many years of knowing him that Roger is one of the nicest guys at the range. But he is there to shoot, not to be gawked at and asked questions by people who just bought an SKS 3 months ago and are now wondering about the price of acquiring one of the rarest precision rifles ever made. Sometimes I really wish I had a nice one-road-in, one-road-out place tucked away in the mountains. Better yet if I could get it approved as a shooting range for restricteds :)

How much does that cost? I bet my mosin nagant outshoots that. I kid, please stop throwing stuff at my face.:D

If you come by calgary let me know, if it's ok with you I would like to blast a few rounds down the tube of the aw... granted you are ok with that.

Same for Colquhoun, if you are ever in calgary or nearby give me shout via pm, I would be happy to meet up and go blasting for a few rounds :)

And if any of you guys have any suggestions for a quality marksmanship school please do let me know

Found a cool pic, In between the two AI's is a PGW Timberwolf. Looks like the Brits and a Canadian sighting in their rifles. As far as I know only Canada uses the Timberwolf so that has to be a Canuck right?

Well back to the reloading bench for me, got work to do. I hope to get out next week and try the CGN 1/2 moa challenge after which I will post the results here.

There are few rifles on earth that are cooler than an AW. Sure guys can build cheep knock offs but they will always know that was just an affordable compromise. If I had the cash I'd buy 3.

That is pretty awesome.

Well I tried out the cgn 1/2 moa challenge today.....and failed haha (flyer top left). Although I am shooting some very nice groups now, most in the .4's and some .3's, I can't keep it together for 5 groups in a row off the bipod without getting a flier at this time.

Next time out I'll use a stack of boards as a front rest. The PH bipod is great but has alot of movement so its not the best thing to use for shooting groups.

if I win the lottery I am buying an AWM just for the fun of having one.

Such an epic rifle. I used to be a counterstrike player, and the awm is an epic counterstrike rifle :p
I wish I had enough money to have a collection of the counterstrike guns, but alot are prohibs, and most are too expensive.

next best thing is an AICS for the rem 700
