.26 Nosler

I guess I can look forward to some new and interesting 6.5mm bullets being produced by Nosler.

They already have it. In fact I think they designed their "new" cartridge as a platform for this bullet.

I think their LR Accubond may well fit into that category as well. Seems they already had the bullets.....just not the cartridge. Interesting to see the influence that television has on the marketplace. The 6.5 lived in relative obscurity until recently. Now everyone needs one....interesting.

My 40 degree 6.5-08 should drive that bullet nicely... I'm underwhelmed by the new cartridge and won't run out to get one... BUT, if I was in the market for a NEW 6.5, I'd be giving this one due consideration... Probably wait a couple years to see how well it performs against the current benchmark 6's, 6.5's and 7's...

Boo & Sheephunter:
:) Yes guys, I have been paying attention and I have been visiting Nosler's site. But I want a 6.5 bullet with sectional density of 0.5 and a BC of 1.0 and I want it in 125 to 140 gr.
and I want it NOW!!! :)

Why stop at a BC of 1.0......let's get something that actually defies gravity.....lol

I remember watching a grouse preening one time... One of the breast feathers drifted up, up and away on a thermal until I couldn't see it anymore... Perhaps a new "Accubond GF" is precisely the way to go???

You see guys posting about their rifles that have zero drop ...perhaps the prototypes are out there already!

I built a few 6.5 - 300 Weatherby's back in the late 60's, early 70's. They really performed with a 28 inch barrel... I did a few 264 rechamberings as well. I imagine Nosler's 'new' cartridge will do the same... 40 years later...

The key to these much over bore cartridges is get a long barrel... if you are staying with a 26 inch you may as well stay with a .264 Win Mag. It works great too.
