Norinco .45ACP

So I pulled the trigger and it went bang 100 times out of 100. I wish I could comment on accuracy, but this was my first time out with a .45ACP so I wouldn't be the best person to review that. All I will say, is that it was consistantly down and left of centre, 90% hitting the 8 1/2 x 11 target, so it is probably the operator, not the tool causing the inaccuracy. Distance was ~10 yards.

Same here. Spoke with some of the guys at the range and the trigger pull is heavy on the Norinco 1911 when they are new. The pull is heavier than the gun so you have to push too much on the trigger and it pushes the gun down and left.
Made sense to me and when I kept that in mind I found I did much better. Trigger Job in the near future should resolve it. ( or a couple thousand rounds)

Did my IPSC black badge with my combo gun and ammo this weekend, and it seems to be pretty good overall as far as accuracy goes, 2-3" groups at 10m are no problem. Out of about 400 rounds this weekend, I got one squib, and one that I noticed the case was split when I was loading a mag. Other than that, no problems, and I went through about 800 round before that.

very good, but a bit dirty as stated.

In my hands its quite accurate, 2-3" from 10m. In a better shooters hands it was 1" or maybe a bit bigger. His first two shots were in the size of a thumbnail.

this out of a brand new Ruger SR1911. Probably less than 30 rounds thru it

Placed an order on Nov 20 for the .45. Still no update if the package has been shipped or not....Ordered a pistol from Epps, was shipped the next day and I got a tracking number too....Just sayin.

Any accuracy testing on it yet? Someone run that stuff through a 5" 1911 and shoot it over a chronograph. That would be interesting to see.

Have a look at my previous post where I mention the chrono results my friend and I recorded.

The 1911 is capable of accurate shots well beyond the 10-12 yards most guys talk about so I encourage everyone to challenge themselves and increase the range they shoot at. With some practice you can easily hit 10 or 12 inch metal plates in the 20-35 yard range. Then when you need to engage a target at 10 yards it will be accomplished without much effort at all.

Anyone have a nasty smell from the 45 ACP when opened? Haven't opened my yet, it just arrived.
I just don't want to stink up the room where I open it if it does. I assume it ships in cans?

No cans. Inside the crate is a vacuumed sealed bag around the ammo. My three crates so far didn't have any smell at all

Have you tried using the phone?

No, and I will tell you why. They allow you to track your order when you login to you account. No movement there. Secondly, I have always communicated with Email. No response there either. I am not overly concerned.....yet.

Mine smelled a bit funky, sort of a musty/moldy smell. But the crate had some dried mud on it, so it had probably gotten wet. The ammo was fine inside the bags.

Not worried about the wood molding. Just opened my container and found the plastic bags with Black/White ammo boxes.
No smell I could detect. I think the smell comes from the canned ammo.
