Dillon 550 Grain accuracy question

For match loads will the Dillon 550 measure the powder accurately or is it best to measure the powder another way?

Match rifle or handgun loads? The best match rifle ammo is loaded meticulously and every charge is weighed. Handgun ammo doesn't need that much precision.

If you want exact amounts of powder, its is fairly close, but not for match. I use the black measuring bowl, that has a built in side funnel, and pour each load for that. I also use digital scales accurate to +/- 3milligrams. Get a good scale, and measure every one each time for first few, then every 5 to maintain some QC. Hope this helps.

It also depends on the powder used. Ball powders tend to meter quite well through powder measures while extruded powders tend to suck.
