Remington R15 vs HK SL8

They offer free floated rifles?

For around the same price as an R-15 you won't find anything free float. I haven't seen any factory built rifles from Core floated but it can be added to any DI rifle for a couple hundred dollars.
Check Wolverine and Wanstalls for some AR's from $1000 and up (there are other companies but those are the first two I check). For a $1000 AR I'd save a little longer and spend $1500 and step up in features and quality.

Just get a daniel defense. They are reasonably priced for how well built they are

Swiss Arms sniper is more accurate out of the box

Do you actually have any hands on experience with either rifle?
Are you talking about the target flat top model? That's the one I had. Don't trust everything you read on a site like this.
If your talking about the 550 sniper version that we can't get in Canada why even bring it up if it's not available to us?

I will shoot my HK side by side any Swiss arms any day at the range and I know that I will shoot smaller groups.
The HK isn't as cool looking and is heavier and therefore much less suited to use as a battle rifle or for 3-gun but when it comes to accuracy you can't touch the heavy contour hammer forged polygonal rifled barrel they gave this rifle.

shooting edge sold the sniper version and there were only ever 10 complete rifles imported and a couple of parts kits from what I understand, I have owned both.

It is available in Canada, read this.

And it is a better comparison to your HK since it too is a heavy barrel rifle made for target work. Those are 1" squares in that group pic if you're wondering, I hope whoever owns this rifle now does not take you up on your challenge, might be tough to beat that.

A much better comparison for accuracy, but at 4X the price?
Those look really nice but there is no way most Canadian weekend warriors are going to spend $10000 on a 223 rifle. Probably why most of us have never seen one.
Very nice though, if those were $3500 and the regular classic green and black special's were $2500 I bet there would be 10000 of them floating around out there instead of 1200 split between green and black. Then the RCMP would have a real mess on their hands if they try to take them away.

And yes, that looks like close to 1/2 MOA, I would have a hard time matching that. I'm just hoping my next batch of handloads has a combination that gets me less than 1 MOA. Best load from the last batch with Varget and 60gr Nosler BT did 5 round group into about 1.25" at 100yds. I'm trying CFE223 next with the same bullets and going to swap out optics to give me more magnification during load development and testing.

I wish they were cheaper too but no dice. I have one rifle that cost 8k and that was crazy money but hey, its staying for life.

availability is what drove the price so high, TSE didn't sell them for anywhere near 10k when they sold them originally

Ya, $9900, That sounds reasonable for a better barrel and a scope. :kickInTheNuts:

What's even more ridiculous is that it's a used rifle for that price.

No thanks. There are a hell of a lot better rifles out there for under $10000.

I think it's more of a collectors rifle than anything.

that is a reasonable price, I had one and sold it a few years later so I should know, kind of regret it now. It is the most accurate out of the box semi 223 guaranteed

Sorry, I don't care how accurate it is, $10000 is pretty out there for a 223. I could buy a bolt action for under $1000 that would out shoot it.
It's a nice rifle but $10000? Half that price maybe.
To each their own though.

My SL8-4 did 1moa yesterday with one of my handloads, I still think it can do better but I'm not really all that worried. If I want extreme accuracy I'll take my 308 or 338 Lapua.
