The LSS will take barrel with an outside diameter of 1" free floated.
The TAC21 for the T3 will take a barrel with a diameter that is up to the same size as the action.
If you are thinking TAC21, the options are much greater. The LSS will have more limitations when it comes to barrel diameter.
Yes, our understanding is that all T3's are the same profile which means that we can use the same chassis for all calibers, with the exception of the trigger guard due to the magazine well size.
I just grabbed my first tikka T3 today, in 30-06 for hunting, but if I like it a lot, I might get one in a short cartridge caliber for target shooting, like a 223, so I would be interested in the LSS stock if they are interchangeable.
Will you make two different variants of the stock to accommodate both trigger guards or it will simply need to replace a part on it to fit both long and short magwell?
I am so hard right now.
Yes, we are working on a second variant to fit the long magwell.
Unfortunately it will be 2 different systems. Will it be 2 different stock systems, one for the long and one for the short, or it's going to be 1 stock compatible with both, with just some parts to change (where the magwell and trigger guard differs)?.
Unfortunately it will be 2 different systems.
The actions are the same size. The difference is just the mag well. So with AI style mags, the .223 and .308 magazines will fit one chassis (short), and .300WM, .338LM and 30.06 will fit the other (long).Which calibers are long? and which are short?
or, where's the split?
And, when is the long platform due out?
Also, any chance of a folder?
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
Will the folder be a distinct chassis, or will it be an accessory for the TAC-21 and LSS?
